I've been examined by both. Had good and bad experiences with both. Finally found a female doc I thought was gentle and knowledgeable and stuck with her till I moved. Like most things finding a good Gyno is trial and error. As far as being there with her...is that her preference? Would you want her there with you while you turned your head and coughed??

OK. I'm on the fence about this. One may think that it would be goofy for the man to care if the wife went to a store cashier who was male, and try to compare the two. The doctor is going to be giving what most people would regard as very intimate services to the woman. Some men have a problem with another man, whoever that might be, seeing their wife in the buff and/or doing what would be a very extensive procedure/examination. I get this. And there does seem to be articles lately talking about physicians "over-stepping", etc... of course this is another kettle of fish. I admit that it escapes me to be able to say one way or another. I know women who get very angry that their husbands/boyfriend goes to a bar where there are pretty girls bartending. Many clubs/bars/taverns have a policy that the bartender's significant other cannot be on the premises while their mate is working. (I agree with this policy 100%, by the way). It just causes too much jealousy, accusations, etc...Surely it is up the the wife???
