Is there any truth in this?
Yes.... sometimes. There's no doubt that alcohol lowers inhibitions and sometimes the truth comes out. But not always - alcohol also changes perception and sometimes you really don't think very clearly and articulate even worse, so what comes out is a load of ^*&%^!!!

yes. alcohol depresses the control center of the brain that screens our actions and words. thus when one is drunk or intoxicated, the thoughts just come pouring out of the mouth, as well dinner before that.
