Yeah... if you're going to try to sell the car, get a few of the dents fixed, use some touchup paint and don't spend all your time selling the potential customer based on how everything is falling apart on it. You can be forthcoming about that but you don't have to try to make it the focal point of the sales pitch.

I think you're right though,it's hard to care about somebody if I DON'T CARE ABOUT MYSELF first.Once I love me,it's easier to care for others.
