It's a snow day today, combined with Friday, it's awesome...goin' sliding with the kids. If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em Woohoo! Sliding...should tucker them out pretty good by noon anyway! Have a really good day everyone! Peace out

Vancouver Blizzard 2006 -

Revenge of the Commuters Chilled Vancouver commuters faced their second day of winter hell today, as an additional ¼ centimetre of the peculiar white stuff fell, bringing the lower mainland to its knees and causing millions of dollars worth of damage to the marijuana crops. Scientists suspect that the substance is some form of frozen water particles and experts from Saskatchewan are being flown in. With temperatures dipping to the almost but not quite near zero mark, Vancouverites were warned to double insulate their lattes before venturing out.
Vancouver police recommended that people stay inside except for emergencies, such as running out of espresso or biscotti to see them
through Vancouver's most terrible storm to date. The local Canadian Tire reported that they had completely sold out of fur-lined sandals.
Drivers were cautioned to put their convertible tops up, and several have been shocked to learn that their SUV's actually have four wheel drive, although most have no idea how to use it.
Weary commuters faced soggy sushi, and the threat of frozen breast
implants. Although Dr. John Blatherwick, of the Coastal Health Authority reassured everyone that most breast implants were perfectly safe to 25 below, down-filled bras are flying off the shelves at Mountain Equipment Co-op.
"The government has to do something," snarled an angry Trevor Warburton. "I didn't pay $540,000 for my one bedroom condo so I could sit around and be treated like someone from Toronto."

I take it a blizzard is Vancouver causes a state of emergency (real or imagined)

Morning all, I finally got to sleep in this morning...WOOO HOOO! Only the dog wanted out at 4 am this morning and took her time playing in the snow before and after she ummm did what she went out for.

As you know Angela is always on here saying good morning (Shyatfirst) but she has been AWOL for the last day or so...just got a message that her son has who has been ill this week has taken a turn for the worse and is in the hospital..and her with him...she must be exhausted...

It is the time of the year though...where our kids seem to bring home whatever the "others" have out there...

We're thinking of you Ange...

As a matter of fact her son has taken a turn for the worse...he has pneumonia and has been transferred to another hospital in another city...she is staying out there with him...

Please everyone keep her in mind...this is such a bad time of the year (she has other children) for your world to be turned upside down this way....K is her youngest...

I'm thinking of you Ange...

Oh no!!!!

I was wondering why she hadn't been around. I knew poor K was sick but did not know it was this serious.

I will definatly keep her and her son in my thoughts and prayers.

Good morning fellow friends

I am watching a friend's 15 month old this morning for a few hours. So far knock on wood both he and my 8 month old have been getting alone well and not getting into any trouble. Just finished putting my 8 month old down for a nap and the other is watching a cartoon and playing. So hopefuly it will remain that way till his mom gets home LOL

Other than that not much else planned for the rest of the day.
