SISTERS
A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her daughter.
"Don't forget your Sisters," she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. "They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them." Remember that 'Sisters' means 'all the women'... your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other women relatives. You'll need other women. Women always do."
'What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman thought. 'Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake! A grown-up! Surely my husband and the family we may start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!'
But she listened to her Mother.
She kept contact with her Sisters and made more women friends each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her Mom really knew what she was talking about. As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, Sisters are the mainstays of her life. After nearly 60+ years of living in this world, here is what I've learned:
Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what sisters do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Careers end.
But.................
Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A girlfriend is never farther away than needing her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end. Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you. Or come in and carry you out. Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sister-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunts, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life! The world wouldn't be the same without those women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still.

Cheers to all the goddesses and divas in your life....

Yayyyyyyy!!!

My 9 month old daughter just started crawling for the very first time today. And I don't mean a few steps either. She crawled across the living room towards me. That just made my day. I was jumping up and down and crying like a fool lol

My 8 year old son never wanted to crawl when he was a baby. So I was a bit disappointed but my little girl is making up for it. I am soooo happy!!! cheering grin

Hope your all having a good morning/day so far! I know I am grin

cheers

Good afternoon!

Just got back from having lunch with my kids and my friend and her kids. Kids had a half day of school today to start off their christmas vacations so had our gift exchange with friends and a treat out for lunch. Was nice.

Now just sitting here relaxing and waiting for baby to go for a nap and then have laundry to do and thats about it.

Hope your all having a good day so far!

Good morning friends!

It is just after 4am here and I couldn't sleep so thought I would come on for a bit. Gonna go back to bed and try to sleep again. 6am comes way too fast!

Not much going on today. Just some laundry and last minute errands before we leave for out of town tomorrow for a few days.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and weekend and in case I don't see some of you before christmas I wish you all and your families a Merry Christmas and Happy holidays from me and the family! May it be happy and safe for you and your loved ones!

cheers

Hi everyone, had my little "meltdown" and I'm back on track again. This month became a little too much with Kahlil in the hospital and Christmas coming up. It is hard to believe it is Christmas eve tomorrow. Just can't get in the mood this year. The tree and "everything" is up but that is pretty much it. And if it wasn't for the kids it all would be nicely in a box in the closet laugh .

Welcome Bobi! Hope you make a lot of friends here and have a great time. Have seen a lot of new faces lately....

I worked the whole week and today was the only day I got to go to the mall. It was busy but not too.... thought it would be busier. But it was really busy yesterday (so they said) and they expect a big crowd tomorrow. I gotta work tomorrow. Don't think we would be too busy. The whole town of Cobourg should be drugged up by now, looking at all the prescriptions we have done this week. And especially yesterday.....

I just woke up. Kahlil and I fell asleep on the couch 3 hours ago wow . Dunno what to do with him now, he is still snoring away. Kinda stired a moment ago.... Gotta wrap some presents and don't wanna go to bed to late.....

Well my friends, I wanna wish everybody a Merry Christmas and hope it is a good one!!! hug
