Is it possible to be platonic friends with an ex? I don't mean the 2 or 3 dates ex. Lol. For arguments sake over 1 year. Could they go for a drink or a meal without problems?

I think it would depend on the reasons behind the break up and what way it ended and if both parties involved were single or in a new relationship. Also both parties would have to moved on, if one still had feelings they might be holding out for more dunno

I have NO feelings towards my exes at all so I don't have a problem if the last one needs a hand with something she knows I can do, like fix her phone or computer or something. I can go over to her, do these things, have a chat and then leave without a single thought to her "in that way".
But in my experience, you lose touch. It's hard to stay friends cause there is usually a reason why you broke up and it remains pretty predominant in your head. I think it's possible but a lot of time has to go by before you can reach that level and you both need to want to be friends.

and trust me, you will get everyone asking ya are ye back together, it still happens with me 5 years later, and all the peeps that say, oh ye meant to be.... and im like, if it was would i not be in a relationship with him, and i think im like totally sure it aint meant to be 5 years post break up.....

i have no reason to hate him, or cut him out of my life, and couldnt imagine my life without him as my support.... period!

so never mind what others think, if ya wanna be friends, then do, you a grown man...... its good to have good people in your life... they few and far between

I'd have that situation with the ex wife. And cant ever really see that being buddy buddy. Mates have advised me to lose touch that its not healthy. So I suppose the question for the ladies who all said its fine to do is if you met a new man who was in regular contact with a former girlfriend would you still be ok with it?

i would be fine with it..... they are an ex for a reason, and if he was a cheating, i would just chuck him and move it on..... but without trust you have nothing..... so i have no bother with a bloke being friends with an ex.....
