Mainly Sperrids! (Ghosts)

Possibly,Inter-dimensional Forces.
Heard the story of some Fishermen,spending the night on a little Cay,while on a Fishingtrip.Were attacked by some forces,unable to remain on that little Island.
Had to shove off during the night.
Of course,there are also plenty seagoing Tornadoes which can swamp and sink a Vessel,and make it disappear without a trace.
Then you have Magnetic Anomalies.
In the Bahamas the Compass points to True North without having to do the adjustments you need to do in other Locations.
I remember a day in 9170,shortly before Christmas.
All afternoon there was hardly a Bird aroun,the Air was strange,and around six in the evening the Storm started.
Not gradually.The Winds came maybe at thirty forty mile Gusts.
In a short time it had reached Hurricane force at about 70/80 mph.
I had to go out,when there were Gusts to 100 mph,the Rain came horizontal,with Lightning-flashes,but strangely no thunder.

Storm lasted for about eight Hours,before the winds dropped to about 30 mph,and by morning maybe about 20 mph.
Damn thing came out of nowhere straight from the Northwest.
Now if such a Freakstorm spring up,and catches a smaller Vessel by surprise,it's Goodnight Irene!
Pretty sure some of those Freak-storms and sudden Squalls are a cause in some of those Disappearances!
Then you also have Freak-waves that can swamp and sink a smaller Vessel.
It's a big expanse of Sea in that Triangle.
