Kattsrose: I'll go with the most dull theory I ever heard:
There is more traffic there so, more ships and airplanes to sink or crash. I doubt there is a higher rate of unexplained disappearances than there is anywhere else on the ocean in a remote area.
Apparently there is a similar sized area that has also displayed some of the phenomonen and activity as its bermuda counterpart, some say it is also a magnetic deadspot and that also is the only spot on earth (apart from Bermuda) where magnetic north and true north align perfectly.

and it is practically opposite of the Bermuda Triangle.

Proudamerican100: Awww things to wonder about. How about the lost city of atlantis too
I grew up hearing the stories of a vortex being the explanation of the many unexplainable happenings in the bermuda triangle. Also known as devils triangle. If memory is correct the stories talked about a huge vortex that actually created smaller vortexs in the oceans bottom. The suction actually being so great at times it could pull an airplane down into it.
woow... cool.... Atlantis will be really great to talk about ...

Jake_J: My TheoryThat's where Captain Jack Sparrow lives !Jack Sparrow: My tremendous intuitive sense of the female creature informs me that you are troubled.
I heard another theory about release of gasses from below the sea bed which reduces the density of the sea water and as we all no from Archimedes, a body displaces it's own weight when suspended in fluid.....so when the reduced density sea water can no longer support the weight of the ships, they sink.
Alternatively, and much more interesting, there have been reports of submarines attacked by giant creatures from the ocean depths. They reckon there are huge squid down there. I think they even got a tooth embeded in the hull once.
