What makes it "very very very obvious to you that there can't be a god of any sort"?
Facts, not feelings. I'm guessing you can't come up with anything other than feelings, opinions and quotes from anti-religious books.
My partner and her father are deeply religious people. They are very serious about their Christian beliefs.
Good little ultra liberal UUAer that I was I decided early on I was going to educate them about how wrong they were.
They wouldn't fight me. They would politely point out where I was wrong about what they believed. They would profess support for me or anyone else believing whatever they believed. Live and let live.
The one time I got anything close to a lecture about religion from Katt was when I made a derogatory remark about Muslims after we had left a store where a Middle Eastern clerk. She was 100% right. I was making assumptions based on his race about his faith and his competency. If the guy had been white, black or Hispanic I would not have been trashing Christians, if he had been Asian I would not have been trashing Buddhists.
Did you ever see someone deep in debt facing bankruptcy get a debt consolidation loan to help them get back on their feet?
Then the first thing they do is go out and buy a bunch of junk they don't need to convince themselves they are doing OK financially again. The young couple that lived across the street from my parents did that last year now their house is going to be auctioned off.
My grandfather heard about that and asked if they voted for Obama.
The Federal Government has been wasting money for years and we are supposed to pick up the tab on it so they can waste even more. That is what raising the debt limit is all about.
I have to watch my spending, why shouldn't the government? There is more than enough waste to cut to more than cover increases to necessary programs including a long overdue cost of living increase for Social Security.
Infatuation, passion and lust are fun for a while but having someone you can count on to be there for you no matter how rough things get and who can count on you too is very, very nice.
Our Chinese cabbages and mustard greens have gotten hit hard. The broccoli is untouched.
Unfortunately most of the organic controls like bait crops have to be done earlier in the season and I really don't want to put poison on something we are going to eat.

A friend married an Asian woman hoping for a submissive wife. It didn't work out quite the way he expected.
I can't imagine a worse person to be married to than someone that gave in on everything. The give and take when you learn how to do it right is very cool. Even if you don't agree on something it's better to better to be with a tiger than a mouse.
