RE: Who has more Rights?

It's all in how people apply themselves.

The kids I work with keep getting the message they are stupid and can't learn so it is hard even getting them to start trying.

My job is to find how to help each one get the first step in learning to get past their disability and continue from there.

The man from Detroit apparently saw he had to make a major change and work at it to improve himself. If anyone was telling him he could not or should not even try he apparently did not listen to them.

RE: Who has more Rights?

She's watching a movie and I'm IMing my mom so it amount to about 3/4 instead of two.

RE: Who has more Rights?

I got talking to one woman who had been raised in Harlem. She'd gotten pregnant at 17 and was in "the system" for many years. It was kind of a trap because any job she could get paid so low that she could not afford the child care let alone losing her health care and rent subsidy.

When her daughter started school she was able to go to college part time and start to get out of the "trap".

RE: Who has more Rights?

Nope this is Rose.

Other than suggesting a link she has not posted on this site.

RE: many faces of church..

Interesting contrast to the other thread with man who says "We are all Gods".

My partner had me post a link to the story The Red Shoes but I don't think any of them got it.

RE: The Gods are the dreams of men and women?

Well said.

An old guy in the local store told me. "Common sense isn't as common as it once was."

My S.O. suggests this link.

RE: The Gods are the dreams of men and women?

Some might say you were given a brain and hands as a gift to make your own way in the world.

BUT, back when we were in college our car was dying and out of the blue someone gave us their old one. She had no reason to do it other than "Do unto others..."

The car didn't come in a flash of lightning but who's to say what inspired the act of kindness by someone who was almost a stranger.

RE: what is the strength of women

I hope this does not sound stupid.

The ability to live being both yourself and, in part, the other person. Viewing yourself and the relationship from their perspective as well as your own.

RE: The Gods are the dreams of men and women?

My parents are both Unitarian Universalist ministers. I was raised that there were ways of seeing the same God spirit. One book I read described it like light through the windows of a house shining on the floor. Each window gives a different pattern but the source of the light is the same.

My father in law has a lot of the image of the stern but loving father in his view of God he was raised with but admits he is limited in his view of the true nature of what ever is there. He told me one time, “A baby knows more than I do because they have no preconceived notions and maybe no restrictions to being open to the connection with God.”

RE: Physical Attraction (kinda for men, but women are welcome of course)
