RE: This subject is on backstabbers:-(

It sounds like middle school all over again.

It seems to happen in the adult world too. Sad because it is such a waste of time.

RE: "I do" vs. "I don't"

It's nice to have the commitment official. You've gone the extra step to say, "Yes I will stand by this person for life". You can have that commitment without the piece of paper but outsiders might not be as willing to accept that is is real.

RE: Whats the difference between republicans and Democrats

When we got together I was ultra liberal and thought I would educate K and her family. Now I'm middle of the road and still getting educated by them....

RE: Your Dream Job

Wildest dream I would have liked to have been a professional musician.

Real world dream job is the one I have. I wouldn't trade it for any wild dream now.

RE: "...one day Another....

One view from the scholars:

When thou wast young - When in early life thou didst gird thyself, etc. The Jews, in walking or running, girded their outer garments around them, that they might not be impeded. See the notes at Matthew 5:38-41.

Thou girdedst - The expression here denotes freedom. He did as he pleased - he girded himself or not he went or remained, as he chose. Perhaps the expression refers rather to that time than to the previous period of Peter's life. "Thou being now young or in the vigor of life, hast just girded thyself and come freely to the shore." In either case the Saviour intimates that at the end of his life he would not be thus free.

When thou shalt be old - Ancient writers say that Peter was put to death about thirty-four years after this. His precise age at that time is not known.

Thou shalt stretch forth thy hands - When Peter was put to death, we are told that he requested that he might be crucified with his head downward, saying that he who had denied his Lord as he had done was not worthy to die as he did. This expression of Christ may intimate the readiness of Peter thus to die. Though he was not at liberty as when he was young, though bound by others, yet he freely stretched out his hands on the cross, and was ready to give up his life.

Another shall gird thee - Another shall bind thee. The limbs of persons crucified were often bound instead of being nailed, and even the body was sometimes girded to the cross. See the notes at Matthew 27:35.

Carry thee ... - Shall bear thee, or shall compel thee to go to prison and to death. This is not said to intimate that Peter would be unwilling to suffer martyrdom, but it stands opposed to the freedom of his early life. Though willing when compelled to do it, yet he would not seek it; and though he would not needlessly expose himself to it, yet he would not shrink from it when it was the will of God.

It's an interesting passage. I was wrong about what I thought it was about. Katt is better at talking about this sort of thing than I am. I'll leave her a note to see if she wants to comment tomorrow night when she is on.

RE: Relationships are they over rated?

If you expect too much out of a relationship they are over rated.

It's a lot of work to build a good relationship and then there is the maintenance on it afterwards. It isn't always easy and it isn't always fun but it is worth it.

RE: Age difference between couples so what are your views on this

I had a brief fling with someone 22 years older than me. Age was not the problem. The problem was I was young and stupid and she was middle aged, stupid and way out of touch with reality.

Why can't they make romantic, really romantic movies in Hollywood any more?

RE: Obama for president in 2012 or will America allow the mighty Spin machine of GOP defeating Sanity?

Expecting anyone to live their life according to your rules based on one small aspect of who they are is bigotry.

RE: Obama for president in 2012 or will America allow the mighty Spin machine of GOP defeating Sanity?

His style is more like Jvaski.

RE: Obama for president in 2012 or will America allow the mighty Spin machine of GOP defeating Sanity?

So much for your claim that you are not a bigot.

RE: Obama for president in 2012 or will America allow the mighty Spin machine of GOP defeating Sanity?

Could you be more specific as to who you are talking to? 95% of the people posting on the thread have been belittling Dude for months.

laugh

Look at the poll results for crying out loud. He is not speaking for the majority on the forums.

RE: Obama for president in 2012 or will America allow the mighty Spin machine of GOP defeating Sanity?

You would do well to make people laugh instead of pissing them off. Your trolling for Obama is getting really old and yo do come of like a raging homophobic with the "They don't even like you" crap.

The sad truth is that Katt's friends have been much more accepting of our relationship than the supposed liberals L was raised around have been. The real surprise was a fundamentalist Minister in Colorado who told me he was glad Katt had me in her life and shook my hand.

People are who they are Dude and political affiliation is only one small part of who they are.

The main person spreading the hate on these threads is you. I don't know if it is a joke or if you are trying to make Obama supporters look like idiots but it really is getting old fast.

RE: Obama for president in 2012 or will America allow the mighty Spin machine of GOP defeating Sanity?

Dude, Laura (Katt) is very proud of being a Republican. That is part of the reason she, and I have been so evasive about our identities and have not posted photos.

We've changed our location and lowered our ages to help protect the political career of her soon to be ex husband. I think on some level she really did want others to know who we are. She was honest that she is white and I am black. She even mentioned that I play the piano. There were other clues too. Many of them if anyone cared to look for them.

I worked with her husband and over time Laura and I developed a incredibly strong love for each other. Her husband was surprised but accepted it like a true man, he's happy for both of us and getting on with his life. We're all still friends and his friendship means the world to both of us.

Hardly the stereotype of a Republican you like to promote is it?

So I'm posting our photo, let the chips fall where they may:

Other than Raphael being here (under that name at least) it looks like the same show that has been going on since we got here.

RE: If you could sing in front of an audience ......

I was Hedy Larue when my school did How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and camped it up all I could. I stole a lot of the character from Maureen Arthur in the movie version.

It was fun and my friends and family thought it was funny because she was so much different from me. At the party after the show we all stayed in character which was even more fun.

RE: how was ur first kiss!!

My first kiss was at a birthday party when I was 8. We played some silly kissing game. My mouth was puckered so tight my lips hurt.

First real kiss was when I was 15 from a very good teacher.

RE: Obama or ... do America really want the new Republican landscape?

You're not anybody with any business calling me "honey" jerk.

When you become a black woman from the US feel free to try to enlighten me as to what its all about. Until then why don't you just go play in the street with your foul mouthed little friend Raphael?

Freddy, Tom and Conrad are all good guys with sharp wits and minds. Read their words and learn something.

RE: Obama or ... do America really want the new Republican landscape?

OH LOOK!!!!

How cute, a straight white guy telling me he knows more about being a gay woman than I do.

RE: Would u have a one night Stand with ur Ex?

The ex is an ex for a good reason.

If K weren't in the picture I would consider a one night stand with the first person I slept with just to show them how much I've learned.

blushing

Got vegis?

I got many of my seeds on Ebay but a a friend gave us some seeds they had saved too.

We have an herb garden but it needs to be cut back because some things are taking over. Fresh herbs are very nice though. I like going out to get fresh chives for the morning eggs.

RE: Obama or ... do America really want the new Republican landscape?

I see that HSD is just as qualified on deciding how to ruin the Middle East as he is to ruin the USA.

Katt came up with a good line about him a few days ago, "How can a half baked Danish pastry like him still be so flaky?"

Got vegis?

My first tomatoes are peeking up out of the dirt. I should have planted them earlier but.........

RE: Is it reasonable to ask or expect a partner to change?

I think it is more reasonable that both people in the relationship need to be able to adapt, adjust, accept and compromise. We change over time and the relationship changes too.

No matter how much you lover a person they, and you, will never be perfect. If you can accept and deal with that it makes life much easier.
