This article is so fabulously expressed that I had to copy and paste it and using it for the begining of this thread:

__________________________________________________________

The New Republican Landscape

Six months after voters sent Republicans in large numbers to Congress and many statehouses, it is possible to see the full landscape of destruction that their policies would cause — much of which has already begun. If it was not clear before, it is obvious now that the party is fully engaged in a project to dismantle the foundations of the New Deal and the Great Society, and to liberate business and the rich from the inconveniences of oversight and taxes.

At first it seemed that only a few freshmen and noisy followers of the Tea Party would support the new extremism. But on Friday, nearly unanimous House Republicans showed just how far their mainstream has been dragged to the right. They approved on strict party lines the most regressive social legislation in many decades, embodied in a blueprint by the budget chairman, Paul Ryan. The vote, from which only four Republicans (and all Democrats) dissented, would have been unimaginable just eight years ago to a Republican Party that added a prescription drug benefit to Medicare.
Mr. Ryan called the vote “our generation’s defining moment,” and indeed, nothing could more clearly define the choice that will face voters next year.
His bill would end the guarantee provided by Medicare and Medicaid to the elderly and the poor, which has been provided by the federal government with society’s clear assent since 1965. The elderly, in particular, would be cut adrift by Mr. Ryan. People now under 55 would be required to pay at least $6,400 more for health care when they qualified for Medicare, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Fully two-thirds of his $4.3 trillion in budget cuts would come from low-income programs.
In addition to making “entitlement” a dirty word, the Ryan bulldozer would go much further in knocking down government programs to achieve its goals. It would cut food stamps by $127 billion, or 20 percent, over the next 10 years, almost certainly increasing hunger among the poor. It would cut Pell grants for all 9.4 million student recipients next year, removing as many as one million of them from the program altogether. It would remove more than 100,000 low-income children from Head Start, and slash job-training programs for the unemployed desperate to learn new skills.

galrads: The Fix

This article was recently found in a Floridian newspaper...

The Business Section asked readers for ideas on: "How Would You Fix the Economy?"

I think this guy's response nailed it (but I'd have doubled everything)!

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy.

Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new AMERICAN Car. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes!!!!!

Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. Then I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto!

Sincerely,

This plan looks interesting but not really doable any way dunno

You see... no body kind of "gave" money to american companies and so on... you are refering to recovery act I guess, when the federal government began to help America back on track... this money was not like given a way thing as Republicans love to claim and forgetting all a bout these programs actually began by GWB after his lousy government had brought America to a deep recession after years og neglect and wrong economical decisions and STUPID tax cuts for the rich and two unpaid wars... this money is a LOAN and must be paid back with interests even!

Millions of jobs are lost mainly because of recession but millions of jobs are also saved becasue of recovery act of the government. No government could allow the whole thing collapse and the sinking ship of Geroge W Bush sinking completely .

For those who do not already understand what BHO is trying to accomplish, what the big picture is about, read this. Most of us have known the plan since before he was sworn in, but for those who are juststarting to wake up this is a good read.

WAYNE ALLYN ROOT: Overwhelm the system

Barrack Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward &Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

-- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. Â It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

-- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kickback hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

-- Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

-- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.

-- Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America. The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.

-- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan.

With gas prices rising to $3.84 per gallon...mainly on the geo political events around the world....that have been misread, misunderstood and misused by the present administration....
we find a lone Liberal harping that their failed economic policies are not at fault. That it is still the REP fault.

GWB is three years into the dust bins of history. Soon as 2012 rolls around to be 4 years, yet the DEM and liberal want to act like they have no responsibility for the events of the last three years,

Three years that have seen the highest unemployment rate in
the country since the great depression. The global economic instability of European socialistic benefit driven countries.
Seen the drug war literaly brought to the American border.

Sorry.

The buck is stopping.

Americans have found the liberal agenda to be one of deception and of nondisclosure. Obamacare was a massive health bill of back room deals and payoffs. The collusion (weapons sales) of the present Administration with the Qdaffi regime has whipped away any claim to the moral high ground.

Americans, it is time to take back your country. It begins in the 2012 election.....done with respect for the Constitution and rule of law. Assuming that the government will give us a 'fair election'.

Something it has trouble in promoting in Afghansitan were in supplying the Karsai governmet with the butterfly ballot, massive voter fraud occurred. We send our men and women to
war to promote democracy and to defend the country, the administration then risk their lives to set up flawed elections.

In Iran, when the voice of the people spoke to the fraudelent election of Ahmendinejada and Khatenie, did this Administration speak with them? No. It was quiet the swelling revolt in the streets was brutally repressed. Here losing a chance to change the regime of a country that has for 40 years opposed American and killed Americans. A country coming closer to a nuclear device every day.

Then as the middle east street protest broke out. Could this administration determine if they were protest for democracy or for Iran revolutionary Islam? Again no. The evidence mounts to the protests mainly being Shia based and to having leaders from
alQeada and Iraqi foreign fighters.

Finally, as US embassy and consulates in Mexico are protected from car bombs, does the border close to illegal drugs and illegal aliens? No. It remains open for both. So while protecting themselves, they leave the country and its people
at risk to this growing threat.

Then in its sole geo political gain....the Russian/American Start treaty. The US was silenced to the Russian supported coup
in a Stan country to along time allie. Silence on the Hezbolloh coup of a long term allie in Lebanon. Allowed the North Korea to continue to threaten Pacific rim countries with a hidden reactors that should have been disclosed as soon as the Chonan was sunk.

If the present administration wishes to claim any responsibility to these events, most Americans would both understand and offer support for the future. But the Administration, like the OP, white wash these failures and darken the future with bad foreign and domestic policies.
