Sometimes this country is in a "damn if we do or damn if we don't" situation. These countries don't want our involvement yet at the same time when they can't work together or one is threatening the other they expect ours to step in. This war now though I question the motive.

I just had to comment on this one. Working in transitional housing for the homeless, we did have a few familes that were illegal. At first we thought that we could not take them in due to this factor, but we were informed that we could not ask if they were legal or not. In one particular case, the mom was not legal and three out of four chldren were not neither. She led us to believe that she was legal. She had false documentation. She was able to get a welfare check and food stamps for all of her children. They also had the medical insurance. The mom also found a job under the table. The reason was that social service would not let the children go without regardless. To be perfectly honest, this family was able to obtain more assistance than most of the other families that we had. Which was unfair, because the Mom was not compliant with our program and we decided to let her go. Social Service found her a home and put the money up for her. The mom was given 24 hour free daycare but decided to leave her children home alone. When we had to report this, social service made excuses for her, where other families in our program lost their children for less... I never did understand this.
goodguy9994 –“also I want to know where is that they grant free education to illegal aliens.....if they do IT IS NOT fair...I want to know if it actually happens...I highly doubt it” It DOES. Most just phony up documents anyway, so not having papers of some kind is fairly mute once they get their hands on the fake ones. “...also the average american kid is too busy with getting high or getting pregnant or dating...” I rather resent this generalization, as the parent of two kids, 13 and 25. The youngest is getting straight As, and still has no interest in boys, much less drugs. The older is working on his doctorate, and although he may have an occasional drink, never drugs or even cigarettes (major athlete). I would like to mention that the younger is having a lot of difficulty in a couple of classes due to the immigrants. And no, I don’t know whether they are legal or not. But they disrupt the whole class, yell anti American slurs, and start fights, but none of the American kids are even allowed to call them on any of it, because that wouldn’t be PC. So I totally agree with “and yes there is lot of discrimination in the usa....” toward OUR CITIZENS.
“but we were informed that we could not ask if they were legal or not.” That seems like bull to me. Should at least be allowed to verify as to whether or not you were assisting criminals. “I never did understand this.” See my remarks regarding discrimination in the US. I sure don’t understand why illegals are treated better than citizens.

I'm sorry but when all the homeless families and those below poverty level are given half a chance then we can help "illegal" aliens.Fill out some f@#$king paperwork and get a visa like everyone else.
I hope that was meant as an invitation to your country, Canada, and not the US. But hey, are you gonna put your Tigger pic up for Halloween tomorrow? I like that one.
i don't like the illeagle part, they should go through the process, i have immigrant friends who did, and they find it offensive they went through the process for years and came here, and these others can do it, and nothing is said nor done.
as far as our troops going to other countries illeagley....they don't....thats all i will say, and check around...there is other nations with troops here...including germany and japan
All I know is a vast amount of time and resources are being spent to that, taking away from other areas of education for the "english" speaking students.
you make a good point, they hate us and our way of living so much, they want to come here and be just like us.............maybe they want somebody to hate them too..............we are special, hated and envied................
Yes...pretty scary to think that there may be people getting the opportunity to dictate the governing laws of this country when they themselves broke laws to even get the opportunity to do it.
A pal of mine whose wife is Iranian, happily married for 30 years, sent me this: PART 1
Subject: Australia today, England tomorrow?
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia and her Queen at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his Ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown. Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state, and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you", he said on National Television.
"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia: one the Australian law and another Islamic law that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option", Costello said.
Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country. Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off. Basically people who don't want to be Australians, and who don't want, to live by Australian values and understand them, well then, they can basically clear off", he said.
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.
Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians."
"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."
"We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us."
"If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like "A Fair Go", then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. By all means, keep your culture, but do not force it on others.
"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, the right to leave.
