blarneykite: Just how many Innocent people are "executed" in America each year by the state sponsered murder system..... America waged an illegal war in Iraq and lets be honest... it was about Oil. If it was about civil rights why haven't you gone into Zimbabee, Burhma, Somalia and countless other countries wher civil rights are being breached on a far greater level than in Iraq
If it were for Oil,why invade for what they already controlled?

Oh... how many innocent people get executed in America every year? Hard to tell. Finding a guilty person in prison is like looking for hen's teeth. They're all innocent - railroaded. But if you know the answer to that question, please go ahead and enlighten us. And tell us how you know which were innocent?

As for Somalia, Zimbabwe, Burma and other countries rife with humanitarian atrocities.... Is it your position that we should invade them, too? Or do you think we shouldn't be bothered by humanitarian issues? Doing something about them... is it a good thing or a bad thing in your opinion?

We could have a whole thread dedicated to what should be done about man's inhumanity to man... I suppose everyone's got an opinion on how to "fix" that. But first we have to establish that it's a bad thing. Is it a bad thing Blarney? Should something be done about it?

gardenhackle: Man's inhumanity to Man is always something to speak out against and act against. Saddam will never again gas innocent civilians and torture his subjects. Too bad we couldn't just ask him politely to stop and get a satisfactory result, huh?

Sadam needed to be stopped - the prisoners at Abu Ghraib were NOT Sadam........ Im out of here - Ill leave you all to slap each others backs now and if somebody should accidentally pee on one of you Im sure youll take it in good spirit yes?

People with minds that hate are most peculiar in my book - enjoy each others company - Im gone.........

Mine, too. I don't get understand it, either. So how do you know which people have minds that hate? Is it a litmus test as simple as whether they agree with you or disagree with you that is your measure? Or is it something more definitive? If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were insinuating that people who have been disagreeing with your political agenda are "haters", but you're too reasonable for that sort of thing, so I'm not sure what you were trying to say. Maybe you can elaborate?

trish123: No, she was a beautiful young woman 29 1/2 but it was 7 yrs ago now - the pain never gets less, you just somehow learn to live without them - I have empathy for every parent who has suffered this pain - it takes a good long while to be able to even talk about it.........

Thank you

My deepest condolences, trish. hug I lost a baby in the womb to a heinous crime that was committed against me. I was beaten and left for dead. I wasn't found for two days and the babe was lost in the doing of the crime. Karma eventually got the "man" and I use this term loosely. As a result of the crime, I've never been able to be a parent. May look into adoption at some point in time. But as a would-have-been mother,I have complete empathy for those who have lost a child.

Again, my deepest condolences. hug sad flower

trish123: I suppose the ones who got pee'd all over was a life saver too - no latrines in the area perhaps

What on earth does a mismanaged prison in Iraq that have to do with the national intelligence agency waterboarding three confirmed top level terrorists with inside information on future terrorist attacks?
How was it illegal when any action necessary to enforce UNSC resolutions was given to the US to do so and, how was it about oil when Saddam was supplying more oil to the US than Iraq does now and, most of the oil contracts went to non US entities?

As for being about civil rights, it was about enforcing UNSC regulations. That was the stated reason and, the reason why the US doesn't just go into any country with oil and with human rights violations.

Not sure if it matters. Everyone on the the thread has his opinion (all correct) to how GWB voted in the 2008.

But on Orielly recent question....to GWB...."Whom did you prefer to win between McCain and Obama?" GWB answer was "McCain"
