snowlynx: "We need to talk about Kevin" - Brilliant book!

by coincidence just picked this up today and then saw this thread - but it sounds pretty good.
I just read Q and A - the book which became slumdog millionaire. I'm not a film watcher but might try it now as I enjoyed the book.

Probably but I forgot about this thread for a while laugh

I'm reading a 'so called' thriller and I cant wait to finish it to be honest. Will probably finish tonight or in the morning and will post about it then.

The last one I read was brilliant 'Night Train to Lisbon. I posted about it a few posts back and I would highly recommend it.

I see you still haven't read 'Theres Something about Kevin' laugh

Yeah I read it M. I really enjoyed it.......found it well written and thoughful. It's written from the mind of someone with Aspergers supposedly.........It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on it. Its been a while since I read it to be honest.

Just finished the futuristic thriller 'Salvation in Death' by J.D. Robb aka Nora Roberts. Set in 2054 or so, its about a female detective and a murder of a priest. Give me Hieronymous Bosch any day laugh

About to start 'The Oh My God Delusion' by Ross O Carroll-Kelly. I read the first chapter a couple of weeks back and found it hilarious.

Catch you soon teddybear

When I was last over I bought Ghost Light by Joseph O'Connor...Im three quarters of the way through it now and dont want it to finish....Im savouring it like a melting 99....laugh
Its a delight to read....you have to read it slowly so you dont miss a sentence of O'Connors brilliant writing....I'm loving it...although last night I almost shed a wee tear...a very moving love story.... sigh

I cant recommend it highly enough...please read it!.....teddybear

Hi C wave

Saw that for sale recently but was unsure so didn't get it. I will see if I can find it again.

Am reading "Started Early, Took My Dog" by Kate Atkinson. It's very readable and pacy but rather unusual.

Read another Baldacci - "Split Second" - and it was very good. I definitely enjoy his books and will look out for more.

My problem is that I buy books faster than I read them and I always have a tower of them waiting to be read next to my bed. I never, ever finish a book without having another one to pick up soon after. Cork is a great place for 2nd hand and bargain bookshops. I think I would be a rich woman if I didn't buy books but my life would be poorer angel2

trueword: Was not a big fan at all until I got an audio book of his "The Gunslinger" Absolutely loved it, first audio book and he reads it himself, got the rest of them all 7 books 5.5 days listening and am thinking about listening to them this christmas.

Story is about a gunslinger - what else- but it is futuristic and has demons and magic in it, not sure if I would have read it as a book but listening to him read it is truly amazing.

The Gunslinger, part one of The Dark Tower series! Absolutely the best King books around! I fell in love with Roland, the Gunslinger.... (always did like ol cowboys, lol)
