Would save duplicating threads and promote discussion (forums and other boards). Seems pointless otherwise to have general categories for Music, Books and Movies (might as well just confine them to profiles). How to know what's there if you can't find it. No-one is going to go scrolling through 100 pages.

How would that work, given that the wording of titles can be so variable and misleading?

This one could be about you trying to find the right colour thread to mend your dress...

Yeah, I've entered what I thought was the exact title of a thread in the search field and it just came up with heaps of posts with any of those words in them dunno

Cool, exactly what I wanted to know, thanks. Way down the bottom there, didn't see it.
In response to: Yeah, I've entered what I thought was the exact title of a thread in the search field and it just came up with heaps of posts with any of those words in them

As Conrad said above, t's a keyword search, to see if the same/similar subject already exists. If for example you want to start a thread about dogs, you should put dogs in the title. Vague descriptions are useless. Notorious example is a title such as... "What do you think of".. then you have to enter the thread to find out what the subject matter is.

You are right, Serene, keyword-search tool is not what it should be.

Yep I agree, it's total lack of a prominent position renders it rather useless (no wonder I couldn't find it).

Yeah I just tried to find Soldierbytes' "Big Brother" thread as he said he had some tips on how to see if someone is bogus or not.... couldn't find it in the 'site search' spot.
