Surprise weekend, but where? (11)

Nov 23, 2010 10:30 PM CST Surprise weekend, but where?
Hi everybody,

I will be flying out to Australia soon and will be staying with my friends again.
As it will be my 10th Visit to Australia, and also the 30 years Anniversary between me and my Friend i would like to take her for a long weekend somewhere along the Ocean.

We are located 2 hours away from Sydney...... and i have a spending limit of 1000AUD for that weekend.

So please, any suggestions??? My German Travelagent is useless and if i ask her Husband to get infos for me i know he couldnt keep it a secret grin

I would like to fly with her somewhere as she is never been anywhere apart from Sydney and Brisbane, but i m not sure if that is possible within my price limit.

HELP

Thank you

Hi Allegria, How far you get for that amount of money including accomodation will depend on the time of year you are coming.Qantas and Virgin Blue Airlines are the two main carries out of Sydney so you could checkout their websites for cheap deals or one of the many online travel agents in Australia. Hunter Valley - wineries, beautiful countryside .. magic wine

Only 2 hours north of Sydney, by car. You could join a tour group and coach it, maybe include a night at one of the gorgeous hotels up there.

Rent a camper and drive the south coast road south of sydney, experience nice beaches, wildlife, bush etc. there are lots of safe camping grounds, or motels, even bed and breakfast accommodation.

Its a very nice drive and you'll find many small towns and places of interest. All cater for tourism, motels maybe $120 double per-night.

1 (a) Google travel information and view places of interests.

1 (b) visit my google photo albums (robplum.com) and check out places of interests round here in the Snowy Mountains.

thanks everyone for giving me these helpfull tipps...

at the moment i quite like the Idea of going to Merimbula....but i m sure we have been there before......

Melbourne sounds nice too.......not so much for the shopping but i know for a fact she has never been there.....

so, i think i get a camper/ mobile home and if her husband stays at home me and her will be the older version of Thelma and Louise.......i really like that

Thank you again to everyone bouquet bouquet bouquet
