I'm only into it because it is quality time with my fathre and brother and son, and for the food of course! And Laurie, I'd cook you some mighty fine venison anyday!! I'll be in Texas in January ( right after your bday!)
Here in wisconsin the deer are so overpopulated that we have to worry about chronic wasting disease, and the farmers actually get frre agricultural tags to kill deer because they do so much crop damdge, and vehicle damage.
Sounds like a nice camera. They don't work real well in below zero temps though!
We have a huge rattlesnake roundup in a nearby town...they say the purpose is to secre anti-venon...but the do serve fried rattlesnake...and have indeed so beautifull wallets and belts for sale. Lots of arts and crafts too and a parade...real country stuff...been a few times myself.
Hunting is a nessessary evil in this country. Due to the removal of predator animals such as Panther, Mountain Lion, Wolf, ect.. the prey animals are over populating themselves. In the mid 90's the state of South Carolina succomb to preasure and did not have a season for White Tail. With in 2 years there were more accidents on the roads caused by deer than by all other causes. The deer season was opened up in 1996 and the average harvested deer weighed in at 64 lbs. They were starving to death. I do not hunt now, but did for years. I have never mounted a trophy, but have spent many great dinner hours eating bambi.
