I got back home last night about 1:30 A.M. When I looked in my mail box there was a pair of house wrens sleeping in the bottom. They were all nestled together. The female never knew I was looking in the box, the mail watched me all wide eyed. He was most likely thinking...."Darn night owl."
So many times, we in our busy lives miss the tiny pleasures in life that are free and money can't buy. Like two little birds sleeping in a mail box.
birds used to get in our mail box all the time.. so we would find old ones.. and mount them on poles around the yard.. so every year families of birds show up and nest in them..
At least is wasn't doves. I once had a hanging plant on the porch that a dove decided to lay her egg and make it her nest. Well if you got near the porch she would literately attack you. The mailbox is attached to the house under the porch, so you know the mailperson tried to avoid delivering mail. One thing was nice no junk mail.
