leigh2154: J, Molten steel was explained..........

Melting point of steel - 2800degrees F will weaken and bend only...HOWEVER.......
Metallurgical studies on WTC steel brought back to WPI reveal a phenomenon! Imagine that!!

It's called a "Eutectic Reaction". This reaction, which occures at the surface of steel, causes "intergranular" melting capable of turning a solid steel girder into swiss cheese.

The presence of "eutectic" formation was confirmed by examining steel samples from Twin Towers under optical and scanning electron microscopes. SEE FEMA FOR DETAILED REPORT. The "New York Times" called these findings "perhaps the deepest mystery uncovered in the investigation."Eutectic compound is a mixture of 2 or more substances that melt at the "lowest" temp of any mixture of its' components. i.e. Blacksmiths used sulfur rich charcoal to "lower" melting point.

In the "World Trade Center" fires, the presence of oxygen, sulfur, and heat caused iron oxide and iron sulfide to form at the surface of the steel. The liquid "slag" corroded through "intergranular" channels causing severe errosion.

QUESTION: How much sulfur do you need and where did it come from?
ANSWER: Could be as simple as "acid rain". A lot of water on a burning building will form sulfuric acid, hydrogen sulfide, or hydroxides and cause the "eutectic process.......

I hope this answers "one" of your questions Jlw!!!!!!!

By the way; even if the towers were exploded, it might have been a terrorist act. Perhaps the planes where there just to make sure everyone saw it was terrorism? Some employees might have been undercover Bin Ladens and carried in explosives every morning when they went to "work".

Beat that conspiracy theory!

Would have taken several hundred Tons of C-4 to do the Job for each of the Towers, since the Structure wasn't weakened the way one does for a Controlled Demolition!

No, it was just the planes...the Trade Center was wide open and "busy", people will argue there were vans, trucks, loaded with explosive and parked in the garages under the buildings until the end of time.......preposterous!!!scold All devastation and deaths caused by planes hitting the buildings...responsibility lies not only with terriosts, but with US for letting its' guarde down....not addressing known problems, ATC problems (radar), sleep deprived controllers, inexperienced controllers, non existent ground security boarding and exiting flights, flight instructors not noting "students" only wanted to learn to fly, "not land", planes..... it's all there...dots connect if you do the research.......it was a one time shot...terriosts acts may happen again in the US...but it won't be by flying commercial airline jets into major commercial hubs...

jlw45: I just have to say one more thing about this ...
governments all over the world have committed atrocities ...
and our government is not without wrinkle ...
it wasn't that long ago that five students were killed while practicing there 1st amendment rights at Ohio state ...
and it came out that the incident in the Gulf of Tonkin was fabricated too ...
I'm just saying, nobody should blindly follow any government ...
their intentions should always be questioned...
just my thought, carry on...

Good point.

A lot of folks vote for the "Party" never bothering to educate themselves on each individual candidate on the ticket. Lazy bumps.

Speaking from experience, sorry to say. I voted Party Line in the last primary. Didn't have a clue who I was voting for as long as they were Democrats. Next time I'll do better.

I have never voted a straight party line, EVER! We've got to have a mix and a fairly close mix. If not, we basically have a dictatorship!
