A man can be very much in touch w/ his romantic side and not be emasculated, but there has to be a balance. JMHO.

you are dead wrong in my opinion.
as a woman, I really don't like cynicism, sarcastic humor and I certainly do not like macho approach...it is venom in a bond between two people
perhaps young girls like it....but I guess they don't know any better with all these cynical, sarcastic and macho men on MTV...
I bet when these girls get older, they start to appreciate the romantic type of man much more....
so, don't give up.....stay romantic and true to yourself, the right person comes along...

Excuse me, but why do you think a person who has the ability to combine humor with sarcasm and look at life with a cynical eye when it's appropriate is automatically not romantic?
I'm romantic ... I also have a great sense of humor that often employs sarcasm and am an optimistic realist (meaning I look at things cynically when they deserve to be).
I am not 2-dimensional and I don't want a man who is either. People can have many facets to them... the most interesting and fun ones to be around do. No reason a man can't fit that description.

Yes, I think you are wrong. Trying too hard to please can be a turn off. Just be yourself, but certainly a woman likes to be courted, to be complimented (when you are sincere, she'll sense if it is just words), and she wants romance. I don't honestly think most women like a cynical, sarcastic macho man. Am I wrong?
