You might want to explain in more detail what exactly an arranged marriage is, as there are many misconceptions about that in the western world...

Arranged marriages have their advantages, and for it to be arranged doesn´t mean that the two partners don´t love each other.
One of my best friends is getting married in a few days, her marriage was arranged, nevertheless those two are madly in love.
A lot of people probably confuse the concept of an arranged marriage with what they´ve heard about forced marriages...

It´s really not that rigid, in my friend´s case the kids chose each other as partners, nobody was forced to do anything, but they were introduced to each other by the families. I can´t see any harm in that...

I think people should marry for one reason only, Love...The middle ages are over. Marriage is supposed to be a union of two hearts. How can that happen if there is no love? JMO

I created a similar thread some time back.In some countries like Pakistan/India, arranged marriages with a cousin is popular.Families agree their kids to marry, are they happy ? They have no choice.Their life is satisfying parents demands and wishes.
They brought this way already knowing that they will have to marry someone their parents choose.
I did not find the statistics yet, are the couples happy etc.
The divorce rate in these countries are low 1% but only because those families do not announce.
They say love comes only after marriage.
But cousin, I do not know ?!
I think, its sick.
