am well over it now - just that my last relationship lasted over 10 years and it's still too early to regret much - or dissect it .. but lately am introspective mood.... perhaps that means it is time to get back on the horse ...

do have regrets bout gals from my past that for one reason or another i never got toghether with, i.e. not taking the risk of rejection by not asking them out and now not knowing if i missed "the one" if that makes any sence

A friend of mine started his first relationship aged 35, got married five years later and had their first child five years after that (she's a few years younger)
Mind you I wouldn't recommend waiting that long!

But i have a principle which applies to all exs "Once there i can always be there"..It doesn't matter if they have a new man..

Well, I 've never broken up with someone for a stupid reason...
I think it's not the break up itself you end up regretting, but often some of the things that happened in the relationship (the things you had control of) which eventually led to it falling apart.

The only regret I have is that I didn't get all the money back that they owed me before the break-up.
Seriously past love is just that, past. If you are meant to be together again then it will happen. Otherwise leave it in the past, and don't think about regrets. They may consume you and not let you get on with enjoying your life.

I never regretted breaking up with someone. Usually I think about it very well before I act. Once in my life not too long ago I thought about marrying a girl. But then she moved back to her homecountry (Iran) and I moved to Ireland. It was the hardest thing I had done and sometimes I wonder how things would be if we would have decided to plan our lives together.

I broke up with some one I love to bits but he told me he didn't love me and wasn't going to and really insulted me personally. All I ever did was love him so no I have no regrets ,just sad. But reading your lines above , i'm wondering- all the psycology and relationship kingpins say the 1st rules are- dont txt him. Dont become friends with him after the breakup because that way you wont be able to move on. , and . I've come across this advice many times in the past months.
bigjohndeere: to me history is history for a reason, ifwe have no regrets we probably didnt love the person.... though i could stand to be proved wrong

A guy I really liked and was dating, just cut off all contact with me after meeting my ex in a pub (the ex had literally vanished for 9 months before that )- he listened to him and never asked me .. and I never saw him again ... regret that one ...
