If you are in a vehicle going at a high rate of speed and crash, naturely if you you are not in a safety belt, you are going to be thrown into the window because of the law of gravity.

Soppose there is a fly in your car with the same scenerio with I have written above, does the law of gravity effect the fly who is in the air in a car? Does the fly get thrown out of the window also? Does motion effect a fly in the air in a vehicle?

Yes because the fly is travelling at the same velocity as you, or is it a joke question?

No Joke, but a question. Are you sure by the law of physics?

It's a bit like the question if a lift goes out of control and is hurtling downwards, ifyou jump in the air just before it crashes will you be ok.cool devil

fly has a lesser mass so gravity has less ...

Well if it's those flies could make a mess of your family jewels,

It's not gravity but the kietic energy of the fly keeps it travelling at the cars speed, before the car is suddenly stopped, so the fly would be splatted.

It's not gravity, it's inertia, and yes, it applies to flies too. Gravity will however ensure that you land on the ground or on something after you lose momentum, rather than float away into thin air.laugh

Always remember, wear your seatbelt, and keep your 12 pack of Bud in the trunk, or when you crash it'll smack you in the back of the head, because inertia applies to beer too!beer laugh

But flies have wings ... could the fly recover flight whislt being "thrown out" before the end of the trajectory?

Superman wouldn't need a safety belt!!! laugh

I think you are wrong, not that it is anything personal. The fly is not effected by motion, therefore, the fly will not be splatterd.

sorry but you are wrong, the fly is in motion and if the car suddenly decelerates the flycontines at the origional speed.

What about my lift one?

Those who want to know make an experiment: catch a healthy fly, release it in your car,put your safety belt on , speed up and then brake suddenly, then you will have your answer tip hat

not my theory Newton was right, same as the fly no matter what you say it will get splatted, either by it's inertial motion or by chistmas's shoe, it's got no chance.grin angel devil cool
