bodleing: Haha, I remember when I was out in the Northwest Territories of Pakistan feeling most reassured and relieved on seeing the moon one night. I remember thinking...yes, I must still be on the same planet!!!
I think it's amazing that no matter where on go on the east coast, I see the same moon. The darm thing is so big you can see it no matter where you go within the same time zone. Things like that fascinate me.

At dierent times of the year, diferent places on Earth could be closer or farther away . I'm not shure because of the moons distance if this would make any significant difference . The brightness issue could be just atmospheric and therefore probably not valid . It was very bright last mounth but that was because of it's orbit and being closer to the Earth . Sorry I'm not that up on astronamy, you will have to ask someone who is more qualified .------ This thread is Archived ------

You actually view the moon from a different angle when in the southern hemisphere as your head is turned upside down. When I first went to Brazil it went from wax to wane from the bottom up rather than from side to side as in England. Thought it was pretty cool.
