Im staying off the drink tonight, trying to quit smoking and I know if i drink I'll smoke, so have to abstain for a couple of weeks at least, which will be tough as I havent gone more than 10 days without drinking since I was 17

I think the Twin Towers on 9/11 would surpass that now. Two aircraft involved and almost 3,000 people killed

Honestly mate the fact that you don't drink shouldn't and probably won't be a problem. My brother in law doesn't drink and he is as sound a bloke as you will meet, he is relaxed, easygoing and anybody on a night out with him wouldn't know whether he drinks or not.
However having read through your thread i do see a problem for you....you have a seriously condescending attitude towards those who do drink. It comes across as if you see yourself as superior to those of us who do enjoy a drink.
I don't know you at all and you are probably a dead sound bloke. However on the basis of the comments you have made on this thread if i was a woman who enjoys a drink i would have no more interest enjoying your company on a night out let alone date you.

Wouldnt fancy dating a guy that is telling me that Im not in control of myself because Im having a few drinks.If you dont want to drink thats your choice and prob wouldnt bother most people. dont see any harm in going out having a few drinks and letting your hair down and letting loose

how does not drinking and not smoking mean you havnt lived? iv never tried smoking and have no interest in even trying it because i think theres nothing worse than going over to talk to someone and them wreaking of smoke but thats just my opinion. as for the not drinking i dont drink much at all, i think i had two the night of the drogheda meet and nothing since and before then it was maybe a year since id had a drink. my reasons behind not drinking are that i dont like the feeling of being drunk and not being fully in control of yourself and your actions and also i had a drink spiked when i was 18 and dont remember the next 4 or 5 days after it at all.i know people who drink say they dont like that non-drinkers seem to judge them but in fairness drinkers judge non drinkers as they dont trust them and someone who doesnt drink must be up to something like
in my my opinion if you dont want to drink or smoke then that is up to you. but because i do drink and smoke i dont really want someone sitting there looking and watching what i am drinking or smoking i think everyone has a choice if they want to drink or smoke or both. but im just wondering do you have a problem with people that drink and smoke? im asking this because im curious.
