not in my experience. here most treat it like an emotional shopping mall, you find the prettiest looking member, do what you must and get something new after some time.

xxDandelionxx: Yes, it can work. It seems the modern way to meet someone in a lot of respects, for many obvious reasons.
I met my fella here on CS and we are now engaged, he has moved in with me and we are buying a place together next year. He is 54 and I am 50 later this year, so you are never too old either.
You have to have your wits about you as there are some less than genuine people out there but there are also some ordinary, honest folks too. Be picky, there is no guarantee just an opportunity to sift the wheat from the chaff.

Yes i think dating sites can be great .
You meet someone ,and iff you realy like them and she comes off the site and deletes her profile ,you can always chat to her about getting a better screen name in case things dont work out .

I personally know of three co-workers who have met their life partners through a dating site. They are extremely happy and have been with their mates for a few years now and still going strong.
It was one of them who convinced me to try out the online dating sites. They are frequently asking me how I'm making out.
