Like any other method of meeting a significant other, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Also like any other method, it usually takes some time.
I do think online meeting is becoming more commonplace. Not long ago it would have raised some eyebrows.

HOUSTON4: I have thought about this subject for a long time and think it's time to ask that question.
I never thought I would join a online dating site and never believed that It was possible to meet a partner on one of these sites but about four months ago my friend recomended a dating site to me so I thought well why not I am single so what have I got to lose!
I have been on dating sites for four months and have chatted to a fair few women since I started online dating but I do wonder Is It natural to meet someone this way?
I know these sites are good to chat and maybe make friends online but can we really find love on these sites?

Many have married but I don't think that's the way it usually goes.
I've been on sites since 2006. There were two other sites before CS but they proved to be really bad experineces and they were paid sites.
I've met two guys from CS. One was a convict and the other wanted to control me. Needless to say, it was a waste of time.
I'm no longer looking not because of those experiences but because of someone I met that wasn't on a single site.
I think these sites are good for people who just want to have someone to talk to, someone to joke around with.
I thing the name Connecting Singles is misleading. I think it should be Connecting People. I don't mind that married people are on here but I have seen others complain about married people being on a single site.

The reason it's becoming common place is because not as many people are going to bars to meet. Personally, I'd rather meet a guy in a bar. You can see who you are talking to rather than trusting words on a computer screen.

I had a friend ,well i thought he was ,
He told me the same thing , i found out that he just wanted me pinned down on a computer and out of the way while he tapped off every nite with a different girl in the Kebab shop .

Yes like myself who is single have nothing to lose but I personally don't think its a natural way of meeting someone wether free or subscription and am going by experience on this also.
Where I live the nitelife is just drained of itself and I wonder if this whole cyber revolution has anything to do with it or its purely just the soo called recession I obviously hope the latter.
To put it bluntly their is nothing like real time face to face I would much rather be turned down that way than here as i think it leads to much frustration.
