Are online dating sites really the right way to find love? (228)

I met a fella on line here about 2 years back.. almost in the first week that I signed up..
He skyped me pretty soon after..
When I met him.. he was exactly the person I knew he would be..
He tells me that I was the person he knew I would be..
The night that I arrived in Southhampton, when he picked me up from the airport, he was well pleased to take me to his family to stay with them... He spent the night saying.." I am so happy I cannot take the smile off my face"
Since then, he has remained my friend, we share experiences, and as his sister and family moved co-incidently to near where I live, I now chat to her as well.
So all this from meeting on here.. I am well lucky to have found such a wonderful friend.

Well you see, I can now say I love you to bit to him, and I know that If there wasn't the tinest bit of 12000miles..distance between us.. I may have followed the dating path, but logic is logic.. and I live here, and he lives there...
So, forgive me if I dont lose my head and get stoopid about stuff that I know logically it wont happen...
But if we had lived near, I am pretty sure It would have happened..
Attraction and friendship was there.. but these baby steps get well squashed by logic... maybe it's just me... Oh, and he wasn't the only fella that I felt that way for, but you know, there is a huge difference between really likeing someone, and going down an illusive mind path..
Perhaps I dont wish strongly enough... dunno

I think you miss interpet what we were talking about. We said that using the internet is a tool to find true love. But bottom line is you can not know if the chemistry is there and you are fully in love unless you meet and touch. This is our point. And I want you to know that you are with in the small percentage that was not decieved on line. Good for you!!!

I think we can find our lover via datingsites..but..in my experience there are lots of odd people too..people playing headgames, I experienced that.

Then we crashed from exhaustion and went back to our own corners to miss each other. We kept in touch sporatically by email, phine and facebook for a week. Called tonight... seeing her tomorrow night. She plays the harp.

Ok, here the positive story about online dating. I meet my husband online for on going 9 yrs now. But you may be wonder why i am here in this site. Not many really take the time to be patient and work towards then end result. Long distance relationships can work out, they just take more effort than being right in front of you all the time.

There have been a lot of marriages that have resulted from this site alone....I will be one of those next spring...
Met Kurt just over 2 years ago playing in the forum's...we live 5 hrs from 1 another...We see each other as often as we can..He was here the last 2 weekends at my place and next time won't be til the 4th of July...It takes love and trust and patience to make these kinds of relationships work...all of which we have had...and never been happier..If you truly love someone it is worth the wait...why have We waited...my daughter just graduated high school and I am the one relocating..I would never have pulled her out of the only place she has grown up at and he understood that...This fall I am moving and love him even more for his patience...

after being online for a few years now - across several sites - I'd say it's a slim chance of finding anyone who is serious on here - I've met some really nice people but also met some doozies who really don't know how to play with the big girls
