I think that like many other forms of divination, such as the reading of crystal balls or tea leaves, or turtle shells or deer antlers or or I-ching, or whatever, astrology works by suggestion and by presenting alternative ways of looking at things. A way to break out of mental ruts that we tend to create and view the world from a broader and more detached and objective perspective.
However, getting too hung up in the trivial dogma of divination has exactly the opposite effect, limiting our thoughts.

astrology is more of an absolute truth than anything you'll find in any shrinks office...
This was how it was explained to me. You can fill in the blanks:
The belief in Astrology is very much like an Alcoholic. If you believe in your mind that you are Alcoholic, then you are. If you don’t believe in your mind that you are Alcoholic, then you are not.
I have to say I do believe more so, with the people I get along with & people that seem to know me inside out..met a guy & from the start we had a strange connection..quiet similar to what I have with my sister..both are the same star sign
I have seen some similiar's being signs and the month a person was born in. Like Leo's, Scoripo's, Aquarious (my favorite) sign. I was born on the cusp, Sept 23. I was usually a Libra in the charts. It pretty much describes how I weight decisions, yes or no. I met another cusp, Oct 23. We were like brother and sister with a wild banter with each other. A guy friend watched us with amasement.
I do believe in a connection between people, animals, and the Full Moon. The people in emergency vet places swear there are more animals that come in that night. Also in the ER. I love the Full Moon.
But I do not run my day according to how a chart goes, just now and then check it. I run my own destiny, not a chart.
Do you believe in astrology, or that the movements and positions of certain planets and stars affect our lives?

The stars have always kept humanity enthralled, we've given them names, tried to tell their stories, used them as a way to define beauty. Perhaps because they are the only sources of light when man is most afraid, they have been imbued with a special kind of magic.
Navigators have turned to them for guidance because they are unchanging, being someone's North Star is testament to your fidelity. In the same manner, astrologers have taken the stars as a way to explain certain events and define fate—as if the stars themselves were the gods they were named for. As Romeo and Juliet were star-crossed lovers, modern man has still sought the aid of the stars, what is definitely arcane knowledge in the age of space exploration. It tells you one of two things: stars truly have a form of power or humans still don't have a clue of what they're doing on Earth.
I certainly do believe in astrology and the influence the planets, moon have within our lives,If you think about it we are such a small planet within a huge galaxy, and we as humans are so tiny and mainly made of water.so all the pulling and magnectic forces from movement above us is going to effect us in some way..like the lunar pull, thats were the word lunacy comes from.To me everything is about energy, and everything has an effect because everything is energy. The stars and planets have as already been siad been viewed and admired since time began..i think that they are just to big to ignore..lol.

Love the link,, I dont believe in our daily horoscopes that are printed in the papers etec, but an astrological chart then yes i do to some extent.I think that there are planetary influences throughout our lives mainly larger events etc,i think that they good be used as a guide in our lives as opposed to a prediction of events..does that make sense?

Yes, that makes much sense. Gravity, light and time is our world.
We look at light from the stars and that is a big picture for us.

I don't believe that the planets and starts control our future...but I do believe they influence our behavior. The planets and starts affect the entire earth from living things to the tides...so do they influence us.
I also think, only a real gifted and knowledgeable person can tell you anything about astrology that is of any use.

This is a short Poem that I wrote last year. Not very good, but I was in the mood.
Why do they seek to destroy me? The Heavens should be as much as once was? My Great Lord Jesus, what is the Cause? Whirlwinds blow through our Minds, what are the Laws? I ask you my Great God, what are the Flaws? My Great Love My God, is it by Stars? My Friends and my Lovers, what are you ...Ares? Don't we believe in Great Friendships, even from Fares? Where are we now, were we born on Planet Mars?
