Nikogas: many things that we believe in can be as real as the ground we stand on. Astrology has captivated me since childhood. I have looked back at many "love connections" even marriage. Amazingly exception being my last (second) marriage, all the women I had gone out with were according to just basic reading totally incompatible. It does make one wonder...and to be honest I would have gone out with each one anyway, as I truly believed that we would have a lasting relation.
I tend to agree with you. There are chart writers, etc... out there who can, as awesome as it sounds, pinpoint a person as a Libra, Pisces, etc... just on their attitude and behavior, and they had never met that person before. Coincidental? Could be, I suppose, but so many instances of it being authentic. I think there is something to it, and not just what a lot of naysayers think is just emotionalism or wanting a belief in something. For instance, several aspects about my sign are that I would choose and be best suited for a career in a hospital or medical office; and that I would be very systematic and organized with everything household, like filing, bill paying, keeping ahead on sundries, etc... and all those things are so true about me, I could have wrote the book myself. Know what I mean?

thumbs up rohaan

Astrology is a very good place to start when searching for a career or direction in life.

I’m a double Libra and my group of Astrologers told me that I would be successful in Television or Electronics. 5 years later, I was one of the founding fathers of Cable Television.

Is this just coincidence or did they influence me in that direction?

johnaustin123:
At the time that Jesus was born, a documented super nova (explosion of a star) was occurring.

What Kind of Star Led the Three Astrologers to Jesus

The thing is. An exploding star many light years away would not be capable of leading anybody anywhere. It would appear motionless in the sky and would not be capable of "leading" or appearing to "stop" over any point. It would rise and set with all the other stars.

It might be taken as a sign and the astrologers might imagine about its meaning according to their beliefs but the star itself would be just an unmoving bright spot in the sky.

lucynad: hi, john,

so, my take on it is that "i don't believe in it but i like it"

i sometimes think that Astrology is like a middle-aged aunt always prompt to give meaningful advises and that has a good word for everybody

even if i think she tells some tall tale i like to listen to her...

handshake I like the thought

Up until, and during the Renaissance, men who suggested that stars were bodies of fire and that the moon affected the seas, as well as many other scientific findings we now know to be accurate, were brutally executed as heretics. Just because we do not fully understand the possibilities, including the occult (which I am willing to say may be bunk...) does not make them impossibilities. As I said, what sounded outrageous in the Dark and Middle Ages is now known to be right on. Be open minded. It's better.

And at the same time astrology and the reading of entrails were considered to be valid sciences.

Great answer!
Also, I think when our attention is drawn to something, we continue to pay attention to it, and to events/circumstances around it, that may not have seemed important otherwise.

The characteristics of the different zodiac signs always seem to be right on target. But the daily horoscopes are hit and miss.
