Jeeepers: Did you take the advise of more heat from your soldering iron ?

Yes. I have a new Weller with a rhiostat. It works great! I also found out some other stuff too. My old Weller was ancient and the handle got too hot to hold. You have to use a tip that goes with your brand of soldeing iron or it might not work. The old one had a screw thing holding the tip in place. That had rusted. So, the new one is great and I want to stock up on more soldering irons. Time to toss the old crap and start hoarding the good crap instead.

I always wanted to try that. That and river bed digging. But I never got around to it because of too many other hobbies. You see stuff all the time on those antique shows about goofy guys who find awesome things in river banks. There was a recent Antiques road show where a guy had a huge eary pottery jug with a hole in the bottom that he found in a river. It was an antique chicken feeder. The farmers put food in the top and the birds ate the food that fell out of the hole, just like those vacation cat feeders.

What a great idea. I bet you could make one out of a 5 gal plastic bucket. Just punch a 1" hole in the side near the bottom and put it on the ground full of feed. You could put a few holes in it to feed more chickens. The only problem would be what if it rains?

Today I only got to foil one stained glass buttafly and I gave a finished one to my cousin for graduation. That's the great thing about crafting. If an event pops up you always have a stack of gifties. I like to dangle my glass in front of them on FB and get them all drooly over my stained glass. I think building their anticipation makes it better.

Oooh, I LIKE your necklaces! You have really nice materials in there. I do beading but it never sells. People put it in their favorites and don't buy it. But yours are really nice.

Hey, he could find a lot of quarters in a parking lot.

Today, I was working on a free website. I'm thinking of making some sewing videos. A lot of people want to know how to make their own Rocky Horror Corset. I assumed that since the internet got invented, they would either buy a really cheap one or one of the really fancy expensive steel boned corsets from Ebay. But they all want custom sizes, and fancy fabrics not lycra. So, once they learn how to make their own corsets I can give them the power to make one that fits exactly in their dream materials, or at least they will see how hard it is to do.

Witchaywoman: I am a hobbyist super nerd. Some peole love to talk about their hobbies and some people think their hobbies are a dirty little secret. I think it would be interesting to talk about hobbies here because a lot of hobby nuts might find each other that way.

I asked a question about soldering irons here once and got a big response. And a lot of people have hidden talents. I found that out in a speech class in community college once. One girl did etching, and another girl did Latin dancing with giant cotton skirts and one guy did some kind of electric stuff with wires and LED lights. One guy did a magic trick, and handed out gum balls to shush his audience. I did a fashion show with drawings of people with clothes that velcroed on and off.

That could be interesting.
Myself I love to take pictures although I my camera is a simple one.
