I am wondering if anyone has ever started and ran their own online business or had their own small business venture that they've pursued? If so, how easy was it to start, how do you conduct research to make sure it was a good business venture?
Any other points would be valuable as well.
I've been asked what I've thought about doing an online business, but I honestly have no clue to where to even start, but its something that I thought about doing at various times. I figure the amount of energy and time I'm putting into my job, I'd maybe be better in investing into my own ventures.
I am thinking it would be a product oriented business as I don't possess any specialized service skills ...... although in looking up a link that Venus suggested about home sitters that particular website is for sale. I made me wonder how many others were for sale that were already at least started and how easy it would be simply take over.

mastic55: If someone asked you they may be a con artist.Don't send start money, try ebay and places like that on your own for starts.JMO
Good thought, Mastic, but I do understand that they also have alot of fees that they charge. So can you create a business that bypasses alot of those costs which really may not be necessary.
It's an on-line dating printing business, people come to you to get life size face photos of their favourite CS/FB etc members printed on to sets of pillow cases.... ... for kissing practise.
RDM59: .... I have a business idea for you LG .....

OMG .... too funny. Or how about full body shots for those body pillows!
I've been asked this many times. It really depends on what you want to do! There is no one, simple blueprint for an online business, although there are commonalities. I have one but it is an information oriented site, with my own related products on the side.
