That used to happen to me all the time when I used to have 4 cats 
None of the rescue centres were ever interested so I used to put them in a cat carrier with some food and drink and hope they got better. They never did though. They used to die overnight from heart attack. My tabby cat was a good bird and mouse catcher, think he was the only one out of the four that used to catch them. One of my tortoiseshells was so gentle she used to play with the hamster, nuzzle her etc and she also used to wash my rabbit 
Wow_Factor: Gosh, is it injured? My three are indoor cats so luckily I don't have to cope with them bringing me 'gifts.'
If it is too tiny and appears injured it might be best to put it out of it's misery yourself. Up to you of course.

It is dead now....it was very small but I couldnt have killed it myself...I couldnt kill a fly never mind a wee bird..although Im sure it would have been kinder...now I feel guilt and upset cos I cant stand to see anything suffering...stupid bloody cat

Awww shame. A friend is telling me how her cats bring all sorts in - frogs, mice, birds. Does your cat have a jingling bell collar? Your poor cat brings you a present and probably can't understand why you don't give him a treat!!!

Lol, it's not snowing, just cold and raining. Never known a summer like this. April and May were hot but since the start of June clouds and cool. Ah well.

what did you jus sayMaisie: Not a good start because my dog wanted to go outside 5 times during the night (he's old) so very tired this morning but I perked up a bit afer a relaxing pedicure.
mines the opposite..stayed up all night playing with his new football..spent all morning cleaning up the mess he left me!
