Polarbutterfly: special prayers for the ones who lost thier lives on sept.11 and also for loved ones who still grieve their losses. For humanity...I pray...
montecito: Hi Abby.. You found it.. I was just going to send it to you. It certainly is a different world. Children born after Sept. 11th will never know the peace of mind Americans had before that horrible day. They will think this is normal to worry about a terrorist attack. Before that day, I never gave terrorism a thought because I knew our airspace was being protected from invasion. Or so I thought. I used to wonder how Ireland lived with terrorism every single day. Now I know.
The news today is that there is a severe terror threat for Washington and New York this weekend. It hasn't been confirmed yet but the chatter is that they will use car bombs. They can't get to the White House because there are concrete barricades in front of it but the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, The Capitol all aren't protected enough from a car bomb. Hopefully there's a lot of concrete being mixed today....
I don't want to discuss this with you and am only posting this thread because you questioned my post. If you have further comments about this, please email me. I'd like to keep this thread as a memorial. Thank you in advance.

It is beautiful isn't it Bode. As I sit here listening to all these names being read I can't believe that they all died at the same time.....within seconds of each other. Thank you sweets..
The reflecting pools are so comforting. I will be going there as soon as the Museum is finished...
The youngest person was 4 years old. I think flight 11 had several children on it..
The oldest person was 77 years old.,,
And as they play TAPS, the sense of loss of many people, all at once, is very hard for me to deal with...
Thank you to everyone who took the time to pay their respects on the 10 year anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center Towers and The Pentagon.
I honor the heroes of Flight 93 who overcame the terrorists on a plane that could very well have been crashed into the White House or the Capitol. These heroes took the plane to a meadow in Shankesville, Pennsylvania so that America would be spared an attack on Washington.
I honor the Firefighters, Police and EMS workers who did their best to save lives at the price of losing their own.
My heart goes out to all my American friends. But as Dreamy stated on another thread shes not going to mourn anymore. A decade of pain is enough...time to think positively towards the future. When you hurt the bad guys win...Dont give them the satisfaction. We can remember with reverance always, but dont let them win anymore
