"How many times have I written that when Cubans see the dire state of their neighbor, Haiti, they count themselves lucky."
And ignore the Dominican, Aruba, Bahamas, USA etc.
"Interpol put out an international arrest warrant for the ex-president of Kaupthing, Sigurdur Einarsson, as the other bankers implicated in the crash fled the country."
And they hope to recoup everything from this guy? Talk about 'pie in the sky' mentality.
The IMF wants to take over the world, just as the FED has America... the same good ol'boys into global domination by bringing countries and people to their knees. Banks love debt.

Large Free and unbiased media no longer exists, it's simply the mouthpiece of the 'managers'... we are fed what is advantageous to the few because disinformation is useful.

Agreed, there is not that honor of being unbiased amongst the media, truly a very strong power at the same time. I remember a time that a paper,," The Christian Science Monitor" was said to be one of the most unbiased out there. I do not know what they say about that one anymore. Not to be confused with Scientology. ;-}
Hats off to the people of Iceland for taking their future into their own hands. They'll survive; they have the will, fish, tourism, fresh water & natural heat!

He was arrested in London a couple of months ago, along with some “bigger clients” of Icelandic bank Kaupthing, including Robert Tchenguiz whom had the biggest debt of €1.74bn.
How come that happened? I mean that huge debt for just one man and his companies.
They might not recover anything from that corrupt Sigurður Einarsson but an example will be set so any other chief executives that want to do “ bank”corrupted business they will have to think twice.

I hope that Iceland can hold out.
Banks are feed with "normal" people's money as well.
No doubt that Banks –everywhere- and the Trading Centres need a much closer supervision and regulations that should avoid or at least diminish mismanagements and corruption. Besides having them paying taxes on the trading and the speculation in the markets.
What about the people in England and Germany who had placed their money for investment in Iceland?
They are also “mortals” who want to get “some” of their savings back.
