We spend a lot of time and energy reflecting on the imagined perspective of those who no longer have an opinion on any subject at all.
Would They approve of us ? Does it matter ? Would they possibly alter their strongest convictions over Time,as the Living do ?
Or should we just leave them to mind their own business ?
They are,after all,Dead....

What do you think ?
Are The Dead worth listening to ?
cool

They are not with us in life, but they are with us in spirit.
If I listened to them in life, why would I not listen to them in death?
Matter of fact, as chaos broke out after a meeting with a therapist, I knew my sister got what she needed in death.

Some people are so preoccupied with death and the dead, they forget there is such a thing as life and the living.

I personally think that if the dead could speak, they would tell us to live. So yeah, it may be worth some reflection.

You could do it in reverse too. Contemplate your death, and what you will see, is probably life.

If we're quoting books there's a short story by Dostoevsky where people in a graveyard start bickering about their status from their coffins.

I can't remember the title and I must have loaned the book.

Perhaps someone else can recall the title.

I just remember it being very funny.

What I find fascinating is the headstones of famous people. You can almost any famous person's headstone if you search long enough online.

Perhaps the most disappointing is Jimmy Stewart's headstone. For such a great actor/comedian, his headstone is extremely small and plain.

Mel Blanc's headstone reads, "that's all folks". laugh

The Last Rose of Summer
by Thomas Moore,

'Tis the last rose of summer

Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone;
No flower of her kindred,
No rosebud is nigh,
To reflect back her blushes,
To give sigh for sigh.

I'll not leave thee, thou lone one!
To pine on the stem;
Since the lovely are sleeping,
Go, sleep thou with them.
Thus kindly I scatter,
Thy leaves o'er the bed,
Where thy mates of the garden
Lie scentless and dead.

So soon may I follow,
When friendships decay,
From Love's shining circle
The gems drop away.
When true hearts lie withered
And fond ones are flown,
Oh! who would inhabit,
This bleak world alone?
