I believe he's like a vast powerhouse, but he's neither good nor bad nor left, right, black, or white. And that we can all tap into that supreme source of power and make of it what we will. With electricity, you can kill people in an electric chair or you can light the room. I think God is

The idiot that killed John Lennon had done so because he had a sick mind. And I don't care to ever remember his name, because he wanted that claim to fame.

He will not get that from me. Instead, he was cold blooded killer.

John Lennon expressed lot of his beliefs and point of views through his songs, and through the words he spoke. Some came from his heart while others came from his head. But moreover, he was a musician and singer that has been missed by many who appreciated those gifts he had given us.

Funny how many crazy lone gunmen there are out there laugh

John Lennon was heavily involved in conflict with politics and used his popularity to promote peace, not really a good life insurance.

I used to worship Lennon as a god. Then, if you really read about him and watch all the documenatries, it becomes clear that he was kind of an angry violent person. But I still think he has a beautiful voice and left two awesome sons behind.

consider why tho his dad abandoned them and showed up in 1964 at a the premier of a hard days night asking for money...his mother julia was hit by a drunk off duty police officer, who was not charged...his aunt mimi whom raised him did all she could to stop him from playing the guitar...so noone but jim mccartney actually supported his wish to become a musician...his uncle george was meek...funny he became the strong man he was after only have women influence him...

It only takes one crazy person to get a hold of a gun to spoil your whole day.
I watched the documentary on this nut case and he had some very serious issues that required medication in which he had stopped taking. He actually had begun living his dream world as if he was John Lennon, married a Japanese woman and became addicted to everything about Lennon. And he stalked Lennon, got his autograph earlier in the day before he pulled the trigger later that night.

John Lennon spoke his mind freely and he was entitled to do so, although the US government had at one time kept him under close watch because of some of his beliefs, but that was years before he decided to take a break from the public eye and his music and dedicated his time to his family. When he decided to get back into his music and had cut his final album, Double Fantasy, nowhere on that album had he ever mentioned anything political at all. It was more about his personal life and his love.

Something to the effect of Lennon saying "We're more popular than Jesus." and then later on saying "I don't believe in Jesus"?

Not sure what you're saying. confused

I took what he said as being that many recognize Jesus and many recognize the Beatles, to the point where he felt the Beatles had become more popular. This was from one of his interviews.

I still feel to this day had he & Yoko not made their home where they did he would still be with us. I wonder how many others also enjoyed the flip side of Happy Christmas?

I remember they were much more involved in the Dahli Lama & they all seemed to stick with his teachings.

I dunno, maybe some other crazy loon would have got him. Destiny perhaps? dunno
Look at George Harrison and where he lived (on an island he had purchased) and someone breaking into his home.

Point being, no matter where one may live, there may always be someone lurking in the shadows.

Many would agree the CIA would have a strong interest in John & his actions!
