Nah, they were already in a power transfer anyhow in NK so this won't change much. NK will however use it to take some temporary heat away from China but in the end it will change not a thing.

You mean there will not be a war because of the death of Kim I surmise. In that you are correct but pretty much the people of NK are living in a defacto gulag where they are malnourished and living under a regime worse than that of Saddam's Iraq.

In short, nothing will change as the regime will ensure his son handles things the same once he takes full power.

This is so sad.
The people will continue to suffer even under the youthful son of this nation.

think they got his son lined up however its thought likely the military will step in, which is unlikely to benefit the people

Pretty much. That's why it is known as a 'regime' rather than a dictatorship in that while there is a preferred figurehead (the son) he still has to adhere to the precepts of the father as the goons will ensure he does so otherwise, he will find himself replaced.

In order to change the way things work in NK, you have to do what the US did in Iraq which was to conduct 'regime change.' Simply getting rid of one or two individuals will chang nothing.

Nothing will happen. His son will take over and there may be some internal rumblings while he consolidates his power. The Chinese won't let him cause a stir on the world stage as they don't want their economic takeover of the world stalled for any reason.

I would say keep an eye on the brother-in-law of Kim Jong Ill {Jang Song Taek},who recently has been right hand man. Jang Song Taek has two brothers that are currently Generals in the North Korean Army and he is reportedly close to the Chinese.

Kim Jong Nam {the oldest brother of the clan pretty much has no chance against his younger half brother. Kim Jong Nam is exiled in Macau,China and has a son {Kim Han Sol}attending college in Mostar,Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The grand-son Kim Han Sol just recently pulled his Face Book page.

Keep an eye on the brother-in-law.......

While I agree with your sentiment, that fact is that nuclear weapons cannot be 'uninvented'.

RDM59: Sorry Fred, what video was that ?

What's that saying ... "what you've never had, you never miss".

I heard it on tv. I wasn't watching at the time. They said the "tears" were from his father's death. (sorry so sketchy)
