1 cup of wheat flour
3 boiled potatoes mashed
a pinch of salt
1 table spoon of oil
mix the ingredient well to form apulpy batter.
just like chappattie sort three ball forms
and roll it with a rolling pin
then fry it with little oil
turn over and fry it
and then serve

YES! My friends from Pakistan and India cooked that once when I visited them in brussels, it's YUMMY!
I had wanted to ask them for the recipe but I forget every time I see them laugh

That sounds good. I want to try lots of Aloo recipes but too many of them called for ingredients I had never heard of. Is it true that Asafortide can be replaced by garlic?

Ok, I also heard they call it Hing Powder. I looked it up on Ebay. They had a bunch of different kinds and some of it didn't even look like it was intended as edible spices.

I was referring to other general Indian recipes too. A lot of the vegi recipes seem to call for asafoetida powder. I think I read somewgere it's the same as Hing powder. Different regions have different flavors. Some people claim garlic can be a substitute but this guy says no.
