You are probably right, perhaps if everyone embraced Buddah with a smile on there face like you, the world would be a better place.

Dunno but if you can stop those bloody Jehovahs Witnesses from knocking on my door on Sunday morning it would be a lot peaceful around here.

The world will never be at peace, to keep peace in each country it seems, sadly, we need to be at war with other countries so that the people pull together and fight a common goal. Without war we end up fighting each other. Okay there is a lot more to it than that but there is something to said about Machiavelli's The Prince - written for new Princes rather than hereditary ones and how to maintain their status through violence.
If religion is philosophy about a persons soul then I do believe in the existence of the soul as the soul is a verb not a noun.

Religion as such is not the problem, it's some of the proponents of it that cause all the hassle. Some idiots take their method of worship as the ONLY method of worship and punish others for not falling into line (Spanish Inquisition and other such nonsense for the past thousand years), whilst others have such a level of intolerance to others that they are simply criminal (9-11 bombers and the like).
I can't see that God (follow me on this, even if you're not a believer) is sitting on high and happy at the murders carried out (supposedly) in His / Her name.
But if it wasn't religion, mankind would find some other reason to hate and kill.

I find it interesting that religious people don't believe that others would choose to behave in the correct fashion without the threat of eternal damnation from a God who is supposed to be loving.
I find it just as interesting, looking at the world and the way it behaves, that they think people are even paying attention to them.
Perhaps more people should be practising their religions rather than preaching them and sitting in judgement of the rest of us.
