Had an experience tonight, don't think i've ever had...

A man called my place of work, said he had been in the store the week before and i had "served" him...at this point i'm thinking there was a problem of some sort...then he asked me if I was "single"....I went absolutely silent....

He asked if he had embarrassed me...and i said yes (though honestly i don't know why...i'm not some simpering school girl...) he said he would like to take me out for a coffee or something sometime if i am single...I told him he knows who i am, i don't know who he is and i can't answer that question...then i said i had to go...

I can't believe i just "clammed up" that way...lol...I have had lots of men "proposition" me..but that's when they are standing in front of me...but never do i recall someone calling me at work like that...

What would you have done in a case like that??

And for the men...would you really have done something like that?

I probably would have reacted in a simalair way. Who would accept not knowing anything about the other person.....

Guess he wasn't brave enough to ask you in person...

Hi Urs,

You handled the phone call very well. I hope that he phones you back again, or that he comes into the store and introduces himself.

Lorraine.

Thanks Lorraine...I have to say it caught me right off guard..and i can't believe it...lol...I have no problem with men and their "questions" when they are standing in front of me..but the phone call (though in retrospect...the guy had to really get his "nerve" up to do that...) just threw me for a loop...

And if he does show up in the store and introduces himself, i would not be rude to him, because i would not want to hurt his feelings...but I deal with a lot of customers on a daily basis, and can't for the life of me imagine who i was "nicer" to than any other customer...

Wow. Well I would have probably done the same thing as you and probably felt creeped out too lol

I would be analyzing a lot of guys that would come into the store after that lol Would be wondering if that was the guy.

Who knows. Maybe he will show up at your work place again and talk to you in person. Hopefuly he will be good looking and not some weirdo LOL

Sorry but that just sounds creepy....what kind of guy would not ask such a beautiful lady like you out face to face. No I would never do such a thing....in my mind shows lack of self worth.

He may be a nice guy....but still find it creepy

Hey Urs,
the same thing KINDA happened to me......one of our suppliers, they sent in a salesman to our office......we chatted, he met with my boss and as usual, I offered him a coffee (nothing OUT OF THE NORM)....I went ahead with my daily duties......never gave him a second glance....about three weeks later, he called MY BOSS and asked about me......not myself directly....and asked MY BOSS if it was ok to take me out for lunch....my boss broke out in hysterics.....
the point I am getting at is that it is a compliment when someone makes a move like that......it doesn't necessarily mean that he is a psycho or weirdo, he's just making an effort to meet a beautiful, pleasant woman....
You should invite him for that Saturday night....who knows, maybe you two will most definately hit it off......

About your comment: He can meet me and at the same time lots of other really awesome women!!!.........you are too kind..thinking that if it doesn't work with you, there are other women he can meet..you ARE awesome and also, so unselfish....
Best of luck to you.....let us know what happens!hug

I probably would have asked for a phone number. And asked to go for coffee or a drink sometime if approached.

As for me...NO i would not call someone up at work. never done that and it is not my style. I may and i say may (coz i am really shy), approach someone in person but even that is way out of my comfort zone usually.

Actually...I know a couple that met that way...lol...

One was grocery shopping and while passing by the Seafood counter where the other one was working...well...anyways...to make a story short...she got a call at work, they met, and ever since they've been together...

angel

never know...
