baldydude: my situ must be extreme in that sense, due to them living 2 n half hours away from me, not only do me ex and partner (and my kids of coarse) come in, they usually stay the night, as do i when i go up to them in the outback of co clare
celticeyes1: Well Stan my ex doesn't hang around he isn't even allowed in my home and if I want to go out on a date he will change his plans to suit me and vice versa. I'm not his friend as such but there is no ill will. Don't talk to him about his life and he doesn't talk to me about mine.
Sounds ideal then. I don't know why a guy would have a problem with that. Its great when things can be amicable and far less messy and it helps when you can accommodate each other when the kids are concerned. Thats just mature in my opinion.

I think its great and there isn't any stress for anyone. You hit the nail on the head there I think they weren't mature enough
celticeyes1: Has anyone got their ex added as a friend on Facebook? I have and a few guys I was chatting to on here that I added to my facebook had a little hissy fit over my ex being a friend I'm amicable with my ex, we don't socialise together or anything like that but we do share information in regards to our child on facebook. I'm also friends with his ex wife and other kids with her on facebook too, I don't see a big deal in this
I'm still great friends with my most recent ex (not ex hubby), but we're not "friends" on facebook as his latest sqeeze wouldn't like it!!!!! Sad

I lost a good friend a few years ago because her new boyfriend couldn't handle the fact that we used to date. Jealousy is such a waste of an emotion

Agreed
Most of my friends are male, and if someone can't deal with that, then they are on the road to nowhere
perfect9: Do you think this arrangement has in some way stopped you from moving on with your life ??
nope i've moved on with my life, if a potential partner cant accept my situ then its their loss not mine, i've had a few girlfriends and they were all ok with it, indeed my last GF even came up to clare a few times and stayed with me at the ex's place
i do understand that many ppl would have a problem with it, but as i said its a situ i'm in and any potential partner would have to deal with it, the same way as i would have to accept whatever situation regarding ex's that may exist in their lives
