ooby_dooby: Found at the bottom of his swimming pool.
I need to slow down a bit. I thought of Don King he is suppose to be in Palm Beach for his eightyth birthday or something. I had not heard nothing on this. Will check it out
In typical CA fashion the trial of the cops who beat the crap out of Rodney King was moved to the predominently white Simi Valley because they claimed jury contamination of the jury pool by the media coverage. The jury consisted of Ventura County residents—ten white, one Latino and one Asian. Not 1 black on the Jury. The prosecutor, Terry White, was African American. On April 29, 1992, the jury acquitted three of the officers, but could not agree about one of the charges for Powell. Looking back from today, it's hard to believe that the black prosecutor didn't protest the jury's racial make up. What followed the verdict was the worst race riot in American history. By the time the police, the U.S. Army, Marines and National Guard restored order, the casualties included 53 deaths, 2,383 injuries, more than 7,000 fires, damages to 3,100 businesses, and nearly $1 billion in financial losses. Smaller riots occurred in other cities such as San Francisco, Las Vegas in neighboring Nevada and as far east as Atlanta, Georgia and Newark New Jersey. Burned out boarded up houses and stores stood unrepaired for 10 years following the riots. The people who bore the brunt of the riots for the longest time period was the black communities.

Personally I think the whole Rodney King thing was an elaborate hoax.
From the "beating" to the video, to the judge, to the jury verdict and to the entirely predictable resulting riots, and to the new trial and the huge award.
It was all planned in advance and carried out according to script.

Everybody got their cut.
Now somebody else is getting Rodney Kings cut.
Interesting view, one I would have never thought of. One never knows.
