Douglas village, where I live is closed due to the floods. I live up high so not affected but it seems hundreds of thousands of euros damage was done in the village to both homes and businesses. It's like a hurricane struck here.

The people of Cork have suffered an unprecedented natural disaster, the rest of the country is flocking to their aid as we speak.

Thank's Snowy, it's much appreciated hug

Been out all morning moving stock for people and to see business's and home's ruined in this way is devestating. In saying that people are brilliant and what I have witnessed this morning restores my faith in people somewhat.

Can't get the car out, no power, badly need coffee and more importantly can't find a pub open blues

If you can include a hot flask of coffee, black with sugar I would greatly appreciate it bud coffee

Serious Vinny?
Sorry I didn't realise it was that serious or I wouldn't have been flippant about it. Sounds bad.

Ah I know you didn't mean it Snowy.

Yeah it was very bad here. They were worried about the high tide at 12 but thankfully nothing happened and now they are worried about rain forecast for tonight.

The amount of business's and homes ruined is massive for a small town and I heard people talk about lack of flood insurance because it apparently happened before but not this bad.

Have not heard of anyone being hurt and the people of the town are amazing I have to say with helping people get out of their homes and trying to clean them up. Before I got home there were people arriving with trays of sandwiches and large catering flasks to feed the workers.
Was in the local pub and helped move all their furniture. The local shop was ruined though and was there for a while throwing a lot of their stock out and pumping the water out. Very sad.

Ta Tarzan.

I'm lucky that my apartment is on the 3rd floor but there was a foot of water in the entrance this morning.
Some peoples homes are ruined as it happened in the town centre and they are the ones I feel sorry for.

Is that problem solvable?
