Are we talking about legal or illegal 'employment'? Would it really matter to most women where a man gets his money, as long as he has enough for her...I really do not think that most would care or even check. It isn't like she is going to show up at your job for a lunch date, after you just make something up as your job...

modermen: Selfishness of the modern women? Have men made this decision in these large numbers to turn their backs on women due to finances? Will even more women be left on the shelf?
I don't need a man to take care of me financially but he damn well better be able to provide for himself. That is why he needs to be employed.

I think thats great I hope you work hard ,I envy those men who stay at home minding the kids watching all those sitcoms that are in the middle of the day drinking coffee at them cafes while the women are out slaving,of course I hope you can stand by that point you are making if you loose your job and can,t find another and a man chats you up and he finds out your jobless and decides you just not worth it.you go girl.

Working hard all these years, I would love to have a house husband/mate.
While I was working he could shop, clean, cook and do home improvements.

No man is going to find I am not worth it if I am not employed because I WOULD NOT REQUIRE HIM TO SUPPORT ME NO MATTER WHAT.

That is the problem here.

It is not anyone's job to take care of me but me. Same applies for a man.

Just because men had women trapped into this type of situation in the past and could take advantage of it by no means means it has to reverse itself to women over men in order to be righted. Men just need to learn that a woman is his equal. If he wants to play house husband and is good at it more power to him but that is a married situation and has nothing to do with dating.

I am not dating a man who cannot provide for himself, period. If can do so legally without working than that would be a different scenario.

I suppose you will have to make your mind up,you either want a a man ie mate as you said, or pay the handyman, then again you will have to find a man who will go along with that as a mate, theres plenty of men out there who will do anything to get laid.

Trouble is a lot of men WANT a woman who is dependent on them, and when they do find a woman who would be dependent on them, therefore she is looking for someone who she can be financially dependent on, the guys complain she´s only after his wallet.

When the blokes come accross a woman who can stand on her own 2 feet, and expects him to be able to look after himself too, she gets labled feminist yada yada yada!!!

Make your mind up already guys!!! conversing

That is the point.

Are some guys afraid of competition?

A relationship should not be a competition.

It does not matter:
Who makes the most?
Who has a better position?
Who has the better education?
Who is smarter....
Etc…

What matters is the decision TO SHARE LOVE, to share a life and the material world for the benefit of both and the ones around –family-.

All true! but I believe couples shouldn't forget a valid prenuptial agreement either!
