cloud747: funny how we doubt a person and disregard him, till he is gone
Mr Cloud...
There was soooo very much more going on with interactions than on here... the fact that you were not party to it, speaks volumes..
Please respect this thread, Please do not presume, We, most of us, had a huge respect, lots of communication, by mail, private mail, msm, etc. with Buddy. We miss him and his wonderful photos, his happy smile, and for the great friend he was..he was the best of the best... and we acknowledged it while he was alive, as we were shaken and awfully upset when he passed..
He left us a beautiful legacy of smiles and butterflies... bless him..

Buddy reminds me what the impact of "one person" can make when they make the choice to do so.
I just finished reading the book "Life Without Limits" by Nick Vujicic .... a man born without arms or legs, but who has managed to impact the lives of thousands with his words of hope, his acts of kindness and caring. There is much to learn by following the examples of others who are impacting our world in a positive way ........ the biggest thing I see is looking outside of ourselves; what we can do for others, and really when we think about it, there is so much more that we receive in return.

This is a timely thread to come up now.
I've been deep in debate over on the blogs and a research paper was cited which I could not access due to a combination of my low-tech status and general techno-twittery.
An international, behind the scenes effort took place by a number of CS members to get the study to me in a format I could access and I'm currently wading my way through it.
Thank you to all those who have helped, its much appreciated on more than one level.

hiya Langleygirl i had the pleasure of meeting Nick a couple years ago. if u get a chance to attend one of his motivational speaking engagements...def worth it. He spoke at our school and it was wonderful to feel so many folks moved to a state of joy and giving by his presentation.

Hi Jac.. Sorry I couldn't provide you with the study as I only had it in pdf format. It doesn't matter now as the blog has been deleted by the OP. Glad to have a good discussion with a sensible lady like you..

Thank you for letting me know, myfirst.
I also enjoyed your posts on that blog and tried to mail you to say so, but I'm outside of your restrictions.

Hey Jono just about missed this post, but in my quest to actually read something POSITIVE on here, I decided to dig back into the threads.
I'm sure it would have been so inspirational to hear his speak ..... I envy you that experience.

hiya langleygirl i just did the same thing! .... , was looking for something positive and thought of buddy and looked here! lovely to see you in the threads, missed you while you were gone.
i got reminded today that reality is how i perceive it, and happiness is a choice. odd how easy it is for me to forget the basics. buddy taught me that judging others happens, just remind myself that when i catch myself judging...act with kindness.
so i kind of returned to this thread to also say, thankyou buddy this smile's for you xo j

Good words to remember and life is certainly fleeting .... our attitude is EVERYTHING and Buddy always had a way of reminding me to keep that in perspective with his kind words. We look to others sometimes to put a smile on our face, when its also important to put a smile on another's face by a simple few words.
Kindness in the simplest of forms - truly how often do we blow it? Sadly I can say that its something that I continue to work on to improve in my life, but I do have those moments that remind me that we can make a difference. Yesterday I met a woman who shared that she's just lost her husband ... funeral is coming up on this Saturday ..... married 56 years ... I can't even imagine her grief but the saddest part for me was to realize that I want to ...... for her life has been blessed by sharing it with her husband ...... it made me realize what I'm missing. We shared some tears and laughs and a few hugs ....

That's odd. I had slipped back into negativity and popped in here to try to escape it. I think it was Shakespeare who talked about the evil that men do living on after them. I Buddy's case, so does the good that men do. Cheers Buddy!

hiya Godsgift i love this thread....sometimes it's like a wee sanctuary from the madness. even better knowing it has the same effect on others, and one is in good company in here. speaks to how powerful buddy's message of kindness is.

Gotta say Buddy was one of the few here who have touched my heart .... the difference I found in him was that he always seemed to make the choice to be kind. I admired his spirit for that. He set a good example to me.

Yes Buddy/Jeepers practised more than random acts of kindess!
He was a constant act of kindness!!!!!
He seemed to truly embrace/live the " Be the change you want to see in the world'!
Seems like the threads only ever went to 1000 posts & were then closed.
If ever there was a thread that was worth goin beyond that, THIS is the perfect choice!!
