chris27292729: I'll say permanently staged in Greece,in Olympia where first started ,without any form of commercialization.
be a good idea , the french don't like vine growers call wine thats not grown in Champagne by that name . There is alot of things just like that . Maybe other countries should pay Greece a big fat fee to have the games .
To hold the Olympic Games in Greece every four years would make sense. 1. There would be only the occasional update required for the facilities, rather than having to reinvent the wheel every four years at a runious cost to the host. 2. Historically, it is a farce to call the games the Olympic Games if the event it held anywhere other than Greece. 3. A permanent home in Greece would remove the politics and oneupsmanship that has dominated the modern games. 4. The Greek economy could use the tourism money.
DjWabbet: It costs too much for one country to host permanently, thats why they move it around.
I hope that mad Mayor of yours Wabbet not getting any bright ideas as he does not like you guys paying for things and rather likes the rest of us paying
Controversy surrounds the cost of the Olympics in all the countries, who have staged the event, before the starting and after is over. The Greek Olympic Committee, has requested in the past the IOC (Inter, Olym. Com.)the games permanently staged in Olympia, where first started.

In some countries where the games held, the facilities after the games, remained unused, standing there as "white elephands".

chris27292729: It would be a rift with the IOC,unless the IOC is pressured by countries to be staged in Greece.-
You missed part of the point. Hold your own traditional games. Let the world do whatever they do. Maybe asteroid jumping might be in fashion in a hundred years but forever, the 'real' Olympics will be what they were and, held ever four years in it's home - Greece.
As an idea is great, and if ancient traditional games held again is Greece,i wonder if the IOC is going to ban Greece for violating its rules.

Seems out of character..
Carl's acct Hacked?..
Truth is that individual countries have Olympics programs, run as 'private clubs' patronised by government and corporate sponsors..

The idea is more universal, than Greece's current economic problem, besides the nature, and the spirit, of the games is universal.- By staging them in Greece, every country will have its own staying facilities,as all countries will contribute accordingly for sporting stadiums, swimming pool, and in general sporting facilities.
arapaho: well greece can not afford it so its a mute point really,

Its a good idea , but you will be fighting it out in the world court to win . Stopping the word olympic being used would be the first step .
Yes.Criss.I m for The Greece option, near to Olimpia. They could host it every 4 years and make the opening shows like ancient times they were doing. That would be much more interesting.
