myfisrt: I couldn't agree with you more.
However, if no one in the community can accept cons, where should they go then as sooner or later they are released from jail and need to go somewhere. Do they have to commit another crime so they can get back to jail?

sometimes they do just that - there are serial criminals who find life easier in jail - it's like a revolving door for them

those are the saddest cases - some excons do find acceptance through churches or the understanding of certain friends and relatives

how successfully they put the jail expereince behind them is up to them - if they move on and remain honest things can work out OK

my expereince with friends who have done jail time tho is that some come out thinking society owes THEM rather than the other way around....ummmmm.....no.

but a person with a mature attitude about reforming can be successful - so a lot is up to the individual to take responsibility

They are still the same people when they come back here to the site. Their personalities haven´t changed.

Godsgift: It's ok Conrad. Nuremberg dictates they are still accountable after sanity returns.

Both by all legal and moral codes, nearly all all countries have continually been in total violation of all the Nuremberg protocols...so please leave those useless fantasy land dictates to those who still believe in the Disney world... or in a world governed by the ideals of the UN.

Disagree, we all make mistakes in life and let he/she who have not broken the law (no matter how minor), cast the first stone wine

Joke of the day, we all have the ability to lie and deceive others and most don't get caught.
So those of us that have never lied and have been misunderstood, can you hold a candle to this statement?
Incarnation is how some parents raise children so anyone with parent should never be judged.

Tim Allen, Martha Stewart, Walt Disney, all have criminal records, and both Tim and Martha, as everyone knows, are convicted felons who did serious prison time. (I'd hire them, and I'm a pretty tough negotiator). This topic is difficult to answer concisely, some ex-cons would be excellent employees, renters, etc... Family histories in the United States are peppered with convicts; in Australia it is a feather in one's cap to have convict lineage. People are frail. They choose to do the wrong thing. Some of those choices ARE worse than others. I think many deserve a chance to prove themselves again.

JeanKimberley: We have a general concern about how safe we are in our society.

It was reported at one time that there were 36 serial killers loose at any one time in America.

Another law enforcement person told me it was the disorganized crime that kept them busier than the organized crime.

Most violent crime is perpetrated by young males between the ages of 16 and 25 - although women are gaining more in this field - thanks to equality.

Life is a lot more uncertain that we know. Is it better to know your neighbor just got out of prison? or not know and go about your daily life.

Experts also suggest that some criminal are not redeemable.

absolutely right. as soon as they aare let out they start stiring again
