today I read an article about EMP weapons
a kind of bomb that produces electromagnetic waves..like a micro oven, and melt down all computers, electronic devices etc, and paralizes a city or a country in just seconds...

..Iam very concerned..
my question is..
is it harmless to people, like the military ppl say? or is it just nother lie

petty close to harmless unless within a cirtain radius say maybe a couple feet. the only reason for that is it sometimes might mess with the bodys ability to keep balence and may feel nausiated( i sscrewed that spelling and cant think how to spell it right ) your concerns are valid but the amout of money to produce a wepon that could take out one block of a city is even pretty high, soooooo(voice inflection) the ability to create one that would take out a city or a country....you make your own judgement. i would be much more apt to be fearfull of a dirty bomb, the materials for it you can find in most grocery stores and a hospital.

Whether or not there is immediate harm is determined by the power of the electromagnetic emission and how close you are to it, ie your level of exposure.
It could fry you in an instant, or render you sterile, or do nothing at all . . . depending upon how the strong the pulse is by the time that it reaches you.
People are at greater risk from lower-level, persisten, long-term sources such as major electrical transmission lines. There is plenty of data which shows that people who live close to such sources of electromagnetic radiation have a much greater rate of cancer, especially leukemia.
I can recall that during the course of my work I visited a family in which all three daughters had leukemia (and were dying). The family home was almost underneath a major electrical transmission line. Doh
I suggested to the parents that they should look it up on the net, but they were so stupid that they looked at me like a wombat in the headlights. Natural selection at work, I suppose.

Well it depends on what you believe. If you're of the opinion that living close to those giant electrical wires are bad for you then yes.
They create huge electromagnetic fields around them. Of course the earth has these huge EMF's they are what protect us from a lot of the bad radiation from the sun. Ever heard of ley lines?(google)

This has been around for some time now & not really new news. However this is what the scientists are saying about the massive solar flares that are supposed to be coming in this 24th cycle(of the sun) that started last year, I think. If one big enough occurs it will wipe out all electric devices on the planet. No pumping anything, gas, water, waste, bank accounts freeze. And WORST of all no internet!!!! Not a pretty scenerio for this age of electronic dependency.
Glad I've got my woodstove & bison hide if one hits this winter!

I think a lot of this is old news though later they realized more of the
possibilities of HEMP.
